See a lot of people get confused with those Jersey Shore types. The first time I saw one of those orange tan guys the first thing that went through my head was the charming dwarf-men from the Willy Wonka factory. ooommpa, looommpa

so its a so-so thing. I mean, if youre gonna call Martinez white, you may as well call Julio Cesar Chavez white too and thats a stretch.

I dont really think its a big deal, why bother worrying about it.
According to wikipedia, Argentina has a higher percentage of people of white European heritage than Canada, the US and Australia. Over 90% of the people there are 100% Spanish and/or other European.

Spanish people are white Europeans. Sergio Martinez is white.

JC Chavez is a mix of native Mexican and white, as is De La Hoya.

****, Im darker than most hispanics and some blacks and Im a mix of German, Irish, and Russian.

the thing is, even when we see black people, a lot of them are not 100% black. a ton of Mexicans and especially South Americans have a lot of white blood in them.

why bother caring though you know? I never thought it was important.
I was just making sure, I've never actually known whether they were white or not when I went over there alot of them look more hispanic than white. It's just an observation, I wasn't judging them or anything.

He has whiter skin, but he's from a latino background.
Latino means mix of Spanish with either black or native. Martinez is not Latino, he's of 100% Spanish heritage.

It would be more accurate to say "whites and Hispanics" are dominating boxing, than to say just whites.

I am white, and I just want to say... why the **** does it matter?! Boxing is a sport, an amazing sport... why bring race into things? I don't see the point in commenting on this thread because it is pointless but oh well I will anyway.

There are different world champions, that have different ethnic backgrounds, that come from different countries... that have different religious views. You should be looking at the skill of modern day fighters... not the skin color.

Nothing against you though mate, I am just saying why should it matter? And you could have probably angered a lot of people on this forum for saying this.
