Manny Pacquiao Will Not Accept 50-50 Split For Hatton Fight

I think that W against De La Hoya has gotten to Pacquiao's head.
50-50 is a fair deal. Pacquiao is the number one fighter in the sport and draws a decent crowed. Hatton gets people to fly over seas and puts people in seats.
People will talk about it's all about PPV revenue but 100+ per seat is a lot of money,
not to mention the closed circuit television **** that goes 50 bucks a pop in the casinos.
Also, I believe this will be PPV in the U.K. as well.
Why does everyone imply that Pacquiao himself is the one who is personally sitting at the bargaining table ?
He has a team of people on the payroll who do this for him.
Besides, Manny is probably the most humbe person in the sport, so I doubt anything is 'going to his head'.Comment

In fact, I didn't hear anyone complaining about Oscar's punch output when he fought Floyd.
He threw 587 punches in that fight in 12 rounds total.
Against Manny, he threw 402 in just 8 rounds.
I'm not seeing the huge discrepancy in punch output here. This also goes against the whole dehydrated, and weight drained argument that everyone is making, because if he was so dehydrated and weight drained, then why wasn't his punch output significantly lower than it was in the Floyd fight, where he was the much busier fighter ?Comment

Like I said, you'd be surprised at just how little Pacquiao has to do with the negotiations.
He has a team of advisors and lawyers who are experts at crunching numbers and negotiating contracts.
He's even stated this himself on several occasions.Comment

I say split it down the middle 50/50... its fair then. Hatton will sell all of his tickets and Pacquiao probably would too, it would be a big money fight if it happens so they should just split it 50/50, there both big draws regardless. However Pacquiao and his lawyer probably want a bigger percentage because he is Pound for Pound #1, and Hatton might only accept 50/50 through principle. However, regardless of the purse percentages... this fight is going to be massive, I am looking forward to it as others are... and it has to happen (well it doesn't HAVE to... but it would be a massive event so people will be disappointed if it doesn't).Comment

It's not just output, it's timing, leverage, movement ... his punches weren't sharp. His movement was poor. And it doesn't make sense that a fighter whose main advantage was supposed to be his size would intentionally go in lighter than his opponent. He only put on 2lb after the weigh-in, which indicates something was wrong. Plus he looked as if age was starting to get to him in the fight against Forbes - he couldn't avoid punches in that fight the way he used to. That's not an excuse for DLH, if his preparation went wrong, it's his own fault. And none of that takes anything away from Manny's performance, which was fantastic.
The main advantage that he had was size, but more specifically, it was the height and reach advantage that seemed to be the most talked about.
I just think that the speed was simply too much for Oscar to handle, and I stand firm in my belief that Oscar would have fared much better against an actual welterweight that night.Comment

Well apart from Ricky "the vampire" Hatton, but that just normal, they don't get much sun in manchester...Comment

Thats because and i'm not being sarcastic, Malinaggi would have had a good chance to TKO Oscar that night, he looked hurt before the fight started, I can't remember a fighter looking ill before the fight before.
Well apart from Ricky "the vampire" Hatton, but that just normal, they don't get much sun in manchester...
Malinaggi couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag if he had scissors taped to to his hands.
I couldn't disagree more with that statement.
Please explain to me how you equate looking lean, to looking 'ill'
I know physicians who couldn't gauge someone's physical condition by watching them on the television. You sir, are gifted.Comment
