hmm not sure if i agree there
gamboa has a heavy amateur pedigree, learning to fight in cuba you would get a pretty thorough knowledge of the basics...i dont think gamboa has been fighting in that fashion all his life, he would have started with the basics and then experimented and altered his style as he gained experience, im pretty sure he has a technical base to fall back onComment

u couldsay the same thing about roy and his amateur background.. fact is they both rely on there reflexes to win the fight... when u fight... fight after fight using your reflexes and then they slow down... all the sudden... BAM.hmm not sure if i agree there

He will not make it that long 34/35. If he is the age he says he is which is pretty unlikely, he has 5 years tops atleast at the worldclass level. 126-130 pound guys age a lot faster then 160-175. He can have a good little run though, his team just needs to know he is who he is and he will not really be changing or improving.
There will be very few guys that will have what it takes to beat Gamboa while he has all his reflexes and athletic ability, especially in the lower classes where really hard punchers do not come around all the time (especially ones that can box and have quickness or atleast some timing). He is fun to watch, but I am waiting for him to be in with the wrong guy so I can make some long green betting against him, but who knows that could be years from now.Comment

Not saying its the sole reason, or any reason at all, but maybe the fact that he is starting so late in the pro's (25 for his first fight), is the reason he foregos the fundamentals and goes with the flashier more dangerous style. He is trying to make a name for himself and make up for lost time.Comment
