B-Hop doesn't have anything else to prove, he has every right to fight whoever he wants at this point. He right though, that there needs to be atleast one unbeaten American star at that class, if Dawson were to lose to Hopkins there would be no one else to be a star at that class. It would hurt the sport, sort of like Pavlik getting dominated by B-Hop has kind of hurt the sport since prior to that Pavlik was starting to be labeled as th next American star of boxing.

      Kelly Pavlik????

        Hopkins clearly, picking his fights.
It makes sense for him to avenge his losses, at least one of them disputed, to Taylor. But it is funny that his excuse for not wanting to fight Dawson was contradicted by his last fight with Pavlik. I guess he means boxing needs young black champions.

Chad Dawson is 26 and undefeated.

Taylor is 30 with two losses, and already has two wins over Hopkins.

A bit of a different situation.

I'd say at 43, he's earned the right to pick. If he wants Taylor and not Dawson, I'd say he both doesn't want to fight the young lion, and wants revenge for the Taylor "losses".

              "Afraid of no one?!"

Felix Trinidad is still waiting for Hopkins to accept a rematch!

Lol, if thats what you think then Hopkins should retire. And Pavlik has never even shown any evidence of becoming a big star, even after beating Taylor twice so don't fool yourself.

As a fan I want to see competitive matchs. Hopkins would be passing on the tortch to Dawson but Hopkins isnt' ready to lose again and Dawson could beat Hopkins.

Hopkins knows he can defeat Jermain, but is afraid of taking the chance of losing to Dawson.

B-Hop is probably the most accompllished boxer in his era.

He would probably beat Chad Dawson, but he is at the retirement stage oh his career (again). If he is going to face Dawson, he may as well go after someone like Kessler who he'd probably school more than he did Pavlik.

I all seriousness, Tayor seems like the right choice. They were very close bouts, and many felt Hopkins won. It was more or less a draw.

But i would like to see either

                      Hopkins - Taylor
                      Hopkins - Calzaghe
                      Hopkins - RJJ

RJJ has been running for nearly 15 years lol, it's insane RJJ has refused a rematch
