he does'nt have power, he is'nt/never was a power puncher, he just punches in bunches, and does'nt stop, and half the time he's gettin cracked also
i mean if someone is flurrying at you, what are you gonna flurry back and make yourself look liek an ametuer? are you gonna flurry back and chance gettin chin checked? fact is most people would wait a storm like that by, it's not cuz they're hurt, it's cuz they are more technical than that
That wasn't the way he fought before, I suggest you watch more of his fights early on in his career, he's that way now, just overwhelming opponents with open handed punches but those punches used to carry a lot of power. And a lot of fighters utilize that tactic, the fighter is supposed to force the referee to stop the fight, it's their opponents' fault for not punching back, hurt or not.

As I said, watch some of his earlier fights, his punches had much more power and much more snap, he has stunned a lot of his opponents and hurt some of them in the past and he still stuns and hurt opponents today, he hurt Kessler with a body shot, stunned Jones with a straight left hand and you could even make an argument that he wore Hopkins down. Those 'slaps' hurt more than they look.

all i've said has come from watching him early in his career, i was'nt talking about now, trust me, i've seen alot of calzaghe fights
i live in europe, i've lived in london, calzaghe is ****, his competetion half the time(early in his career then and even now) has always been ****, he fought 40 odd aged fighters and not only that half of his opponents were out of shape bums
half his fights were stopped early, and even on one occation(from what i know) a fight has been stopped for calzaghe when calzaghe was'nt even throwing(the other guy was throwing) outta nowhere the ref stops it(damn, what power he has on his hands eh?) it's always some ****** ****, it's not often where it aint, he had trouble with overweight bums, i mean seriously, i've watched this man before discovering roy jones, he is nothing special
and as for his slaps hurt, obviously, he's a boxer, but he has never been a powerful striker, he has the average power of a boxer

my point on all these posts are, that calzaghe is not/never was a power puncher
or atleast a powerful power puncher

Most of the time his opponent have been at least stunned. Early stoppages always have occurred and always will occur, especially with early fights of a prospect and especially in British boxing, no offense intended to British boxing but the referees there are much more willing to stop fights quickly since the McClellan and Watson tragedies, it's not only limited to Calzaghe getting that treatment. And which overweight bum did he have problems with?

As to your last statement, Chris Eubank, who has fought at cruiserweight against Carl Thompson who was a pretty big puncher in his own right and has gotten hit by one of the biggest punchers at middleweight to super middleweight in the past 20 years, Nigel Benn, said that Calzaghe hit him the hardest, if Calzaghe didn't have above average power, I don't know who does.

yeah chris eubank said calzaghe hit him the hardest he's ever been hit in his career.

this other journeyman said calzaghe hit harder than benn too who spared with both (ill find link to that soon).
