the only reason floyd and other boxers get to fight on ppv is because fans like him are willing to pay for it and expect to see the kind of fights these guys promise. whether you agree or not, boxers on the level of Hatton, Mayweather, Margarito, De La Hoya DO have an obligation to satisfy those who pay to see them.

First of all, when did I ever say Margarito was some all time great fighter? When did I even say he was a great fighter?


Secondly, who says Margarito is my favorite fighter? Do you always assume things like me saying Margarito is a great fighter?

Thirdly, what does being a pro fighter have to do with anything? Based on your ridiculous posturing, I have to seriously ask how old you are, so how old are you? 15, 16?

So Margarito sucks skillwise compared to Floyd, big deal. Its not like he didn't suck skill wise to over 95% of his opponents, yet he has over 35 wins.

I look at Floyd too. I see a scared, insecure little kid who talks loud but tiptoes when its time to walk the walk after talking the talk. I look at his skills too and I've said many times on this same board that he has some of the best skills I've ever seen.


But it doesn't mean **** if hes not fighting the best competition available and there have been plenty of available competitors in his weight range the last 4 years.


Its like watching the Suns play basketball the past few years. They could score a ton of points real quick in the regular season against the rest of the NBA, but once they had to face elite competition on a regular basis, they folded. The only difference in the NBA is, is that teams don't get to punk out of a matchup, they have to play the best available team.

By your estimation of a great fighter, Marvin Hagler wasn't great. Bernard Hopkins is barely great because he beat Tarver. No heavyweight that started as a heavyweight can never be great because they can't go up any higher. Carlos Monzon wasn't great. Salvador Sanchez wasn't great.

I see how hard you're trying to put Mayweather on a pedestal for winning in multiple divisions, but in this day and age, with multiple belts for each class, even Oscar De La Hoya is a 6 division champ. I guess that makes him greater than Floyd.

I like Mayweather and think he's one of the most skilled fighters ever but I completly agree, theres always someone out there who has your number. I thought Floyd lost to JLC the first time and I wouldn't be suprised if a guy like Tony or Cotto beat him if they were to fight
