Has Joe's reputation got worse or better since the Jones fight ?

It got worse after the Hopkins fight, and the RJJ bout was just a nail in the coffin.

After surviving and taking a dodgy SD against the 43 year old Hopkins, Calzaghe tried playing the legend card, which backfired, especially as soon he fired Warren, who exposed alot about his career and tendency to oull out of fights.

As for RJJ, someon who was 3-3, many lost all respect for Joe BEFORE the bout.

Then his comments about boxing dying and glad to be leaving, he again, did himself no favours, and probably knows and regrets not taking on a Prime Hopkins or Prime RJJ. Knowing even losing to them Prime v Prime would have been better, like Hatton lost to a Prime Mayweather

yup. 168 has never had a big following in the u.s.

even americans like lacy are not known in the u.s. but by hardcore boxing fans.

i dunno how he thought that would prove he is a great, i still think all he did was fight bums and the great fighters he fought were past it
The thing is Joe probably believes it did seal his legacy.

The US people love Calzaghe..... Just go around your neighborhood and ask them who Joe Calzaghe is,and they will respond by telling you he is the greatest champion to ever grace the ring.

Exactly, Did Larry Holmes do it against Ali, did Rocky Marciano do it against Joe Louis? No they showed class and respect for an aged great. Especially one who is pissing of blood! Joe is a ****! He just looks LAME and AWKWARD when he does his showboating, it dont suit em at all!

Id like to put that prick in the ring with My 10 and a half stone BullMastiff Tito!!!

I think it made no difference to his reputation, but a big difference to his bank balance!

For me the showboating was funny, let's face it Roy would have done the same if he was still capable.

If Joe was worried about his reputation he would have tried to unify much earlier in his career.

I think he'll retire a rich, happy man.

Let's also nip this 'old man' Roy Jones **** in the bud to. Jones was 39, Calzaghe 37 ...2 years difference - big deal. Neither were in their prime.
