Whatever weight a boxer is in top shape at without killing himself to make. It is a pretty vague term though.

So if 147 is a comfortable weight for say fighters like Margarito or williams then you are cool with that?

a fighters natural weight is a fighter in fighting shape without having to dry out (dehydrate) simply. a fighter weighs in on fri and the same weight on sat means that is his natural fighting weight

yeah but the training is relatively the same whereas diet and dehydration is the biggest factor for a fighter making weight. I think the fight night weight(+3 or 4 pounds) is when a fighter is closest to his natural weight.

A lot of Heavy weights do not even walk around at what they fight at..because they arent in 'fight shape'..

so what a fighters weighs, when not in shape for a fight should be his natural fight weight? um, no.. thanks.

Again that can all be manipulated by training and Diet(without having to dry themselves out).

The thing is none of these so called bigger fighters are actually having trouble making the 147 to begin with and just by keeping their diets in check they can still come in only 3-4 pounds over the limit so we still have fighters with size advantages no matter what.

how about we argue the point that maybe the smaller fighters should stick to their own natural weight classes rather than bulking up to make it into hgiher weightclasses.

Shouldn't the smaller fighters shoulder some of the blame here too?

And of course all of this complicated by the fact that humans naturally continue to gain muscle mass and bone mineral density into their late twenties (and then sustain this through their thirties).
Hence, most fighters move up weight classes as their career goes on and heavyweights tend to get better with age.

Depends on a win or loss.

I agree with that...If some say its "their weight just a little manipulated" then you should have no problem fighting in that weight against somebody else that exact weight on fight night. Some people say Margarito is what he is because he can make the weight......but at the same time jump to another thread and say Oscar De La Hoya was weight drained..."but again he made the weight"...just because you make the weight doesnt mean you belong there. I mean just a thought my nephew is 15 and weighs 140, he is 6'0 and he is lean. It doesnt seem right that someone in there thirties is 147....but I guess it can be ok, Just like Hoya ....Sarcasm ----->But I guess it depends on what nationality the fighter is and if he wins Margarito vs Cotto, then its ok. If he loses Margarito vs. Williams then its not ok(Williams too big) Or Oscar De La Hoe loses to Pacquiao then Oscar is out of his weight..lol
