What exactly is a fighters natural weight class?

I see this said a lot on these boxing forums as of late and what I would like to know is what is the actual science behind determining what a boxers natural weight class is? You can't go by what the scales on fight night show simply because they are all unofficial scales and who knows when and at what time the boxers are getting weighed at. Some fighters are naturally taller but at the same time they are very thin so are we also taking height and reach advantages into consideration.

basically if the person wasn't in shape and didn't work out and was fat and wasn't into boxing and laid on the couch all day long watching price is right while eating Funyuns. Whatever that weight is, is their natural weight class.

That can still be manipulated by diet and training so we still end up right where we started.

Its the closest weight to fighter's walking weight, if the fighter is in shape at a walking weight.

Poor Diet and zero exercise would just make everyone a heavyweight so that still does nothing to determine what their natural weight class is.

In other words if you are a boxer the bottom line is it is impossiable to determine what your natural weight is considering that everyone in boxing is an athlete and if you are at your natural weight then you probobly are not exercising or eating right so whats the point of even getting in a boxing ring.

Again that weight can be manipulated if they are exercising and eating a certin way so once again we are still at the same place we started.

So thats what I am talking about, walking weight for a fighter is the best weight that he can be healthy and effective at. Thats about it, and I dont understand whats your issue with it.
