With Vitali Facing Gomez, Should Wladimir Fight Haye?

According to a recent report in German paper Bild, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is going to defend his title against mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Gomez on the tentative date of March 21 in Stuttgart, Germany. Promoter Ahmet Öner of Arena Box told the paper that a deal is close being finalized and there will be no need for the two sides to head to a purse bid. [details]

    Hm... interesting news indeed.

Maybe the two can still fight in June, and Haye can also take an interim fight at HW as well, perhaps against a guy like Eddie Chambers?

Either way, I'm also down for Haye-Wlad in May and should Haye get past him, he can fight Vitali.

Wlad wouldn't get in the ring with Haye unless he was paid $100Million dollars!

Wlad should be fighting Haye not Vitali.

Its obvious Wlad wants to parts of Haye.

Haye vs WLAD is the logical fight AND the fight the fans want. Unfortunately WLAD is too chicken to fight Haye, watch when he comes with some sorry ass excuse.

Haye should have to earn his way.

I really don't understand the situation between the Klitschko brothers and Haye. Everything I read seems to say that it is Wladimir who somehow has to prove himself at heavyweight when it should be Haye who should have to earn his shot at Wlad and not just talk his way into the fight. Say what you will about Wlad but at least he has beaten many a top ten heavyweight and you can't say Haye has even beaten one. If I were the Klitscko brothers I would laugh at Haye and tell him to go earn his way to the heavyweight title and only then should he get his shot. Maybe it is simply because Haye realizes he can't prove himself and why get knocked off by the likes of Samuel Peter when all he has to do his talk his way into a big payday with one of the Klitscko's. After all everyone should realize that Haye is not, and never will be, the reincarnation of Evander Holyfield.

"Prior to Gomez making a push for his mandatory fight, Haye was planning to sit out until the fight with Vitali. Given the current situation, Haye will probably take a fight before the potential June meeting."

Correct me if I'm wrong but...

'Given what situation' ? Nothing much really has changed for Haye himself. What does he care if his future opponent is taking a fight in between, good news if anything. As far as he's said, based on the June date vs Vitali, he will not take an interim and train hard in America partially with Lennox.

There's nothing really that suggests that's going to change, unless Wlad's circumstances have changed considerably? Which they haven't. Hence an interim with Wlad wasn't talked of much before, and is even less likely to with Arreola in the mix.
