I hated him for the whole Pac thing, but that subsided once he got his ass kicked. He's accomplished a lot in and for boxing. He'll still go down as an ATG since he did manage to win a few of his big fights, and he racked up a lotta belts.

He beat 2 ATG's in Chavez and Whittaker... Not many fighters can say that. Also fought 3 more ATG'S, but lost... nevertheless, he still faced them.

A 10 time world champion, is that not a sign of an ATG?

Chavez was not an ATG when he fought him or anywhere near his prime. Or prime weight.

Whitaker wasn't either but I won't harp on that because it's even debatable Oscar won that fight. I thought Pea won decisively.

Finally, a ten-time world champ can mean a lot of things. How about you tell me who Oscar beat for those titles?

Come on dude, Chavez was definetly an ATG when Oscar fought him. And although you think Oscar lost that Whittaker fight, it still goes down as a win none the less. Also, i know Chavez and Whittaker were both past their prime, but ATG's dont come by everyday and theres not any more possible ATG's he could have faced. I can't think of any more...

            Oscars beaten:

            Hernandez
            Whittaker
            Camacho
            Chavez
            Quartey
            Gatti
            Vargas
            Mayorga

I understand he lost his big matches but he still participated in them. He's got to go down as an ATG. I cant understand how he's not.

Did you guys feel the same way before the Pacman match?

Also, how many on here would call him an ATG. I heard Bert Sugar not naming him in his top 100 because he lost all his big fights.
              Would you agree?

I don't hate the guy. I just never was on the DLH wagon, even in the 90's. Yeah he can fight and box and he got heart, but his style was never appealing to me. I knew that Paco would whoop on him. I just knew it.

I think DLH's scheme backfired on him. I really think he thought that he would be able to push Paco around. But then as time went on the realities started to sink in. Like Freddie Roach being the trainer, Paco's speed, his ferociousness...yadda yadda yadda.

DLH's aiite. But personally i don't think that he's really up there on the great wall. Hall of fame no doubt, but a little short from being one of the greats. IMO.

What do you mean? Yes he had plenty of accomplishments but he was old. And way past it. So ****ing what?

What are you talking about? You're making an a lot of apologies here.

I know. Some pretty solid names. Thank God I actually remember all those fights and when they occured. Or else I'd think Oscar was the greatest ever.

my thoughts are the DLH should either retire or fight Chavez Jr. for a last fight..in which he should win.

Okay, you definetly don't think he's an ATG... Lets just leave it as that. I'd just thought he might have done enough to get into the top 100 in your opinion, but obviously not.

he does fulfill 3, but he's never beaten a ATG except maybe a suspect an elder JCC.

You need to CLEARLY fullfill 2 or almost fulfill 3. ODLH almost fullfill's 2.
