It would be truly absurd to think that ALI wasn't the greatest. My advice to those who think otherwise is to watch his films. Watch his interviews, fights, post-fights, pre-fights, training and anything else regarding the living legend and you'll see why he's considered the greatest of all time.

No other fighter to this day has even come close. Some might consider Mayweather, but i disagree. Not because i'm a hater, but because in order to be considered on of the greatest, you have to be adored outside of the ring as well. However, in ALI's time he was considered a radical and a reble because of his acts. He's also been considered the bad guy. So i can see how people would put Mayweather and ALI in the same sentence.

ALI stood for something. He represented the people who didn't have the strength to fight back and stand up for themselves. He was a shield for justice. When ALI fought it brought a sense of hope and encouragement.

His classic fights: Foreman, Frazier, Liston, Patterson, Cooper, Quarry, and others distinguished ALI as a gentleman, a warrior, a boxer, a surgeon, and graceful.

Yeah, ALI's aiite.

Ali was faster, Better Conditioned (15 rounds) and had a more impressive boxing carreer. Not to mention outside the ring, He is one of the most influential persons in the world not just sports....Dont ever put them in the same sentence son

I think there is plenty of Ali talk on these boards. I think, out of all the fighters that are no longer active, he would be the most talked about. Obviously more talk is directed towards active and recently retired fighters, but I still think Ali receives his fair share of attention.

Unfortunatley there is also a very select few racist individuals on these boards who have tried to take glory away from the great man, but as usual they have failed. There is a good Ali thread in the history section of the forum I think.

Suger Ray Robinson was better P4P in my opinion but Ali is up there in the 2-4 spots depending on which book i happen to be read at the time.

He gets more credit from the media and even people who know nothing about boxing than anyone in the history of sports. Ruth and Jordan are the only two near the same level. I don't see how he can be said to have been slighted in terms of attention in any way, on these boards or elsewhere.
