Will Calzaghe ever fight again?

The money needs to be there and I don't really think it is tbh. At least, not in the quantity that it needs to be for him to fight again.

Whilst I think he is partially bluffing I do think he is genuinely tired of fighting and puttig his hands through it time and time again. Almost two decades is a long time to be in this sport, and everyone has their limits.

Basically, what fights are there out there that would seemingly generate sufficient revenue for him to step back in? Hopkins - the first fight was terrible and he has pretty much categorically stated no to a rematch. Dawson - whilst clearly the most deserving of a shot IMO Chad is hardly a name and a fight with Joe wouldn't generate the megabucks that Calzaghe is looking for at this stage.

I also just can't see the $$$ being there against any of the other guys either. So, basically, I think we could well have seen the end of Joe. At least, until a megabuck money fight presents itself. Which is a future possibility if say Dawson was to pick up one or two more high-profile scalps and make himself a genuine big-time player in financial terms.

It wouldn't bother me if Calzaghe doesn't fight again. I never really followed his career per se, but i wouldn't mind if Calzaghe didn't fight again.

I think his negative aspect of boxing doesn't help the sport at all. How can you be a prize fighter and talk bad about your sport?

If anything he needs to help boxing by speakin good about it. That's one of the main reason why i'm not really a fan of Calzaghe. I'm not into his negativity.

Plus...don't hate calzaghe fans, i think throughout his career he was protected.

I think HBO is trying to get Jermain Taylor and Chad Dawson in big fights on their network so they can hype a fight with Calzaghe in the Summer or early Fall. That's the only chance I see him fighting again. Unless he does some fairwell bout in Wales or something.

I doubt it. He's got no motivation to face any of his probable opponents. No big fights left for him that he'd get what he wants out of it.

I'm pretty sure he'll be back; right now he's just waiting on the sidelines and will be back when a big fight materializes....
