I see Dawson getting a beating 'Jeff Lacy' style.

No offense but that is horrible comparison. I think Calzaghe wins a close SD, but Dawson is no Jeff Lacy.

I agree that they're two different fighters, but both were and are green.

Don't stick green fighters in with Calzaghe and they get eaten. Dawson ain't ready to dance with someone of Calzaghe's caliber, especially after that Johnson fight. He ain't ready.

Look at Dawson against Johnson, i think he earned his stripes in that fight. Kessler was green. Not as far as facing quality fighters, but as far as coming back from a losing position and being in that kind of a hard fight. Before then, Kessler had won all of his fights decisively and never had been hurt or roughed up, where as Dawson has been hurt and dropped, and has came back to win each time. Plus style match up favor's him, he loves tactical fights where as Joe doesn't. Joe likes his opponents coming forward and i see Dawson using the same strategy as Hopkins and Jones did, but with his being more effective because of his youth, faster hands, better stamina( then Hopkins and Jones) and bigger size. What southpaw has Joe fought?

I didn't say Dawson was on the same level skill and ability was as Lacy because Dawson is better but he's green and isn't experienced enough to fight someone like Calzaghe, just like Jeff Lacy was when he fought Calzaghe.

You said "Jeff Lacy Style" I thought you meant he would get beat on as bad as Lacy did. I think Dawson makes for a much tougher fight was my only point. Lacy-Calzaghe looked like a sparring session where the superstar is a bit angry.

Calzaghe adapts to any style like a transformer, add his workrate and stamina to the equation and i don't see how a green Dawson pulls it off?

I wish Calaghe would stop bringing Lacy up every time a potential bout for Calzaghe is made. It does him no favours what so ever.

Calzaghe fans talk as if Lacy went on to become undisputed of several weight Divisions. I mean where is Lacy now? Last i heard he got UD'd by Jermain Taylor. The guy was nothing but a an overrated "Overrated hype job". That's saying something

I dont either thats why I have Calzaghe by SD. Its just a bit easier to adapt to a human punching bag than a tall and quick soutpaw

Hes never seen a style like Dawson, and in every fight Dawson has shown up a different way or has improved on something so hes not easy to predict like Kessler ect. Joe had trouble adjusting to unpredictable styles like Reid and Hopkins( who i felt would have beat Joe if he had better stamina).

I'd pick Dawson by SD. You can't really compare Dawson to Lacy. Two completely different fighters, and it's not like Chad hasn't fought anyone. If Adamek couldn't finish Dawson (and we all know what kind of power he has) Calzaghe won't be able to hurt him. Chad is faster, just hitting his prime, and won't likely fade down the stretch. Dawson isn't as green as people say, Johnson, Tarver, Adamek are all quality fighters.
