well, in regard to Chavez Sr., he came up at a time when they didnt have federal ID's for pro fighters etc...if you look at boxrec they show many of his opponents as having zero fights but that is not accurate, boxrec is a great tool BUT it is very flawed..many of the records are inaccurate/incomplete...I fought a guy who was 16-0, FOR EXAMPLE, and for the longest time they listed him at 6-0...I know another guy who has his record mixed in with another fighter with the same name as him....Chavez and a million other guys didn't fight so many guys with 0-0 records, its just that the website is incomplete

Plus Chavez Sr turned pro at what? 17? Fighting grown men to put food on the table instead of fighting 100+ amateur fights like most people that he's compared to. His son is doing the same thing, but if you can essentially get paid for your amateur career, why not? I don't know why people have such a problem with it.
