I was originally a wrestling fan when I was a little kid. Hulk Hogan and all that junk. Then when I got to high school I lost interest in that and started to follow boxing. I'm not sure exactly what got me into boxing but I do remember that some of the first fights I watched as a true fan were Nasim Hamed, Oscar De La Hoya, Holyfield, and Tyson. The first time I realized I was hooked was when Rahman knocked out Lennox Lewis. Amazing!
All together I'm 23, and I've probably been watching boxing as a fan since I was 14 or so.Comment

Legend has it my LoLo (grandfather) used to box in the P.I. back in the 20's or 30's. That motivates me now.Comment

My dad and uncles all boxed amateur back in Mexico growing up. My dad also boxed during his stint in the Mexican army. So boxing was always part of his life growing up.
As soon as I was old enough my dad would put the gloves on me and work the mitts. So couple that with watching my dad and uncles put the gloves and headgear on, my dad taking me to local fight cards, watching boxing on TV with my dad...it wasn't long before I was bugging my dad to take me to a real boxing gym.
The love of the sport was only passed to me though, my older brother just never got into it for some reason.

JCC jr??
I'm not tryin to be funny or even racist or predjudice....i've never really been into Mexican boxers specifically. Oh hell yeah, they can box. They're one of the major contributors to the sport no doubt about that. But i don't know why i don't have any Mexicans on my list.Comment
