Richie Woodhall. I grew up a few houses down the street from him and watching him in the '88 Olympics (man, he took a whipping from Roy in the bronze medal fight!!) was probably the first time I took a real interest in boxing.
Who got you interested in boxing ?

Definitely my grandfather.
He's a lifelong boxing fan, still is today. He used to take me and watch a lot of amateur fights in The City, and we'd watch just about any boxing match that was on TV.
You know another thing that got me really interested in the sport were the Rocky movies. Back then, you didn't really get to see much about a fighter besides when he was in the ring, so the Rocky movies, even though they were purley fictional, gave you some insight to a fighter's life outside the ring...and really showed me that most of these fighters are just regular people, with extraordinary talent.Comment

The DLH/ Tito hype got me into boxing. I stopped watching the sport for about a year after and from there...I've just been a HUGE fan of the sport.Comment
