I used to spar before - and took it very seriously and was alot more accomplished and better - and the feintings and 'fancy' stuff used to work extremely well. If I stood more upright I'd be alot more vulnerable and susceptble to being hit. I tried a more 'orthodox' approach and got broken ribs as a result.
Am I a southpaw or orthodox? (video)

i can see why you get bloody noses and black eyes..keep you guard up and stop rushing in..a good jab will stop alot of thingsI'm the guy in the grey jumper.
It's light sparring. It's actually been crazy in the past without headgear; bloody noses, black eyes and everything.
That said, I'm very very rusty, that's my first sparring attempt for a while. I used to go to the gym and spar regularly but factors like work, social life and general laziness have reduced me to 'this'.
PS: The guy in the headgear weighs 180lbs or around 13 stone for the UK audience.Comment

Actually I never got the bloody nose or the black eyes
The guy wearing the headgear wears it for a reason. I've had something far worse, a cracked rib.
