At the end of the day, its about entertaining the fans who tune in and pay to watch these events, and if you look at the ppv stats, many people find mma/ufc to be very entertaining.

Had that same question been asked to a boxer, his reply would've sounded something like this: "well im gonna go back home and think things over with my family and team, and figure out what's the best option for me" Translation = We'll see who we can make the most money fighting against.
That is a good point but why is that. Boxing fans have put a lot into records and once a boxer loses lets say 5 times they are quickly casted out as a bum. In MMA fighers can have a high amount of losses and still get paid about the same as a guy that sports a good record, so theres less of a cation in MMA to get out there and take dangerous fights. On this aspect I do think MMA has it right though. Boxing has been doing what its done for over one hundred years so it kind of is it is what it is until the interest drops and boxing has to adjust I dont expect it to change.

Most of it is Yamato Damashii. Samurai spirit. You go out there and put out a good effort, leave everything in the ring and adapt. It wont matter if you win or lose or fought smart or sloppy. If you showed Yamato Damashii, the fans would love you back. A great example of that is Clay Guida.

I too watched it because it was promoted as their best card ever. I ended up laughing almost the entire time. The guys that boxed (what can laughably be called boxing) absolutely dominated the other guys as you would expect. It said a lot about how a boxer would fair in their world.

And you don't think that had ANYTHING to do with the fact that Lesnar is the biggest draw in their sport?

                Yes I enjoyed it.
The "boxing"/ standup was sloppy as always, but that is to be expected.
Rampage crushed the Axe Murderer, and Mir outclass Nog in impressive fashion.
I called the Evans fight, which I was pleased with...

UFC is definitely taking over boxing when it comes to the mainstream and PPV's. Only two of the top 10 PPV's in 2008 were boxing. The other 8 were UFC PPV's.

lol there boxing is sh#t but there is a reason for that standing like a boxer will get your ass knock the f##k out with a kick to the head or neck . this is not boxing this is pretty much as close as your going to get to real street fights
i thought the fights were great

Yeah 2008 was UFC's year. But I'm gonna have to give 3 to boxing, the only reason the WWE was in the top 10 was because of Floyd
