Yeah, I just threw my number in the hat too with these dumb threads. I will say I am not a huge fan but I said wtf I will watch it on a stream, check it out and see what its all about. It was promoted as a big card and would offer good competitive fights between MMA's top guys. Well, I was not impressed at all. I seen a lot of nice ko's but honestly just like ive seen in the past the fights ended very quickly. Their was a lack of drama that I see in boxing because one punch a fighter was down and out. Did you guys find it exciting? Maybe I am just so blind to MMA and dont understand but I really didn't like it. It's not my cup of tea, atleast not yesterdays card. MMA watchers were you let down or is this to be expected?
Did you actually enjoy the MMA card?

Another thing I don't like about MMA is that the cards are so short. I know they show a lot of fights but they seem to end very quick. Last night the first 4 fights they showed had about 8 minutes of total fighting. I am not sure how long the last two fights but for pretty much 45 dollars you got about 12 minutes of fighting. I am not sure how MMA fans got their fill off this card. -
Another thing I can not ever understand about MMA is how do you know who the better fighter is. In boxing 95% of the time you know who is the more dominate and more skilled athlete. If MMA has a ton of quick KO's of fighters just getting caught does it really mean the guy that threw that one punch is honestly better. That is what I will never get, a lot of times in MMA you really aren't providing the casual fan with who is the better fighter? Maybe thats just me also but seeing the best fighters and knowing who they are gets me more pumped then just kind of thinking I know whos the best. I need answers.Comment

Its a different sport. Thats like bitching you got to see only one football game. Comparing apples to oranges.
Also where did you get the figure of $45 for 12 mins of fighting? They showed like 7 fights...I would guess it was 35 mins worth of fighting. The last title fight went 12 mins itself ...remember they are 5 min rounds.Comment

Boxing = WWE like show where promoters hand pick fights and you have 43 year olds fighting in main events because of a tittle a magazine they own gave them. Enough said i think. Shawn Micheals always wins, right? Not in MMA.Comment

You know the same way as boxing....you have to follow the sport.
In boxing 95% of the time you know who is the more dominate and more skilled athlete.
I recall in the last few months De La Hoya getting murdered, Pavlik getting murdered and Nikolai robbing a over the hill fighter of a title.
Its a different sport. Guys wear 4 oz gloves and its much faster pace...getting "caught" is part of the game.If MMA has a ton of quick KO's of fighters just getting caught does it really mean the guy that threw that one punch is honestly better. it was a great card.
the fights ****** though.
too much brawling and wannabe boxing.
not enough jiu-jitsu and wrestling.
why the hell is 2 brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts in mir and nog trying to box? i didn't see them go for one takedown.
dana white probably asked everyone to put on a brawling show for the ****** casual mma fan.Comment

I have to admit that its been a bad few months for boxing but the DLH murder is really the exception rather than the norm in boxing. We all DLH is no longer a true fighter and is just there to rake in money. I also will keep Valuev out of this because that was re**** also. As for Pavlik it kind of backs my point though, we know Hopkins is a much more skilled fighter than Pavlik. If this fight happened in MMA would the outcome be the same? Like you said 4 ounce gloves, Pavlik could of landed a punch much easier in a small cage and maybe got Hopkins and then we wouldnt truly know who was better. Sure this could of happened in boxing to but it seems a lot rarer than in MMA.Comment
