Dan Goossen, who promotes ex-WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams, made a $4 million offer to Top Rank to arrange a rematch between Margarito and Williams. Top Rank president Todd duBoef and Margarito manager Sergio Diaz dismissed the offer as not real.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports last week, duBoef said there "never was a Williams offer." Diaz failed to return numerous calls from Yahoo! Sports, but in an interview with BoxingScene.com, Diaz said, "We spoke to our promoter about the Williams fight and no formal offer was ever made. I can go on the Internet and say we offered any amount of money for whatever fighter. Bob told us there was no formal offer made — it was just an Internet offer."

    Who is more idiot?

Internet offer when the letter was actually by Arum to reject it. Goosen come into this site and claimed the offer was real.

So you saying Yahoo made up a fake 4 million offer.

Goossen able to pay Mayweather 8 million to fight Baldomir but can't get 4 million to get Margarito to fights Williams

But on Tuesday, Goossen provided to Yahoo! Sports a copy of a July 31 letter he sent to Top Rank chairman Bob Arum in which he offered Margarito "a minimum guaranteed (sic) of $4 million against 50 percent of net revenues to Top Rank/Margarito."

Arum responded in a letter on Aug. 5 rejecting the offer.

Arum wrote: "Thank you for your letter of July 31, 2008 regarding Paul Williams.

An ACTUAL LETTER WAS SENT TO ARUM and he actually replied

Well, guess what? Unless Arum has a big change of heart, Margarito-Williams II is not going to happen. Hours after Tuesday's gathering at the aforementioned restaurant, Arum returned a phone call. He said he sent a letter to Goossen later Tuesday afternoon letting him know that he has no intention of making this fight because of what transpired during the Pavlik-Williams parlay.

"Absolutely not," Arum said. "I wrote a letter today telling him I will not be involved with the Williams camp after the way they jerked me around and screwed around for two weeks. I will never forget that. A Margarito-Williams fight will never happen."

Arum, however, was quick to add he does not hold Goossen accountable for what went on during the Pavlik-Williams talks.

              4 million is ***in fake...
