hey, watch the fight again, gatti landed more on de la hoya, than he even grazed floyd. i don't care who floyd has fought, his movement and overall defensive prowess should be judged, not his opponents so much. ****, look how he looked against good boxers like tony pep or coralles, or oscar de la hoya, or hatton. he dominated them, ands yes, he dominated oscar. look how he looked against genaro hernandez, a great boxer with good defense, and floyd dominated him, and his defense showed too. i don't hear that gatti bull**** anymore, because floyd has looked spectaculr against great boxers also.

as far as skill goes, bernard edges him, however, floyd is more athleticly gifted... so floyd is the better boxer all around.....

Plus..... the only reason that floyd gets hit is because of the style he defends in....... bernard doesnt block, he simply moves outta the way...

floyd is the better puncher, and im not a fan of how hopkins uses tricks on the inside (like that headbutt followed by a right hand)

pbf is better all around, but both are great

RJ beat hopkins when he was still getting expeirence. Fighters like Roy Jones and PBF had amatuer fights and the olympics. Hopkins didn't have none of that. He doesn't have amatuer back round. He barely was within his 25 fight when he fought roy jones. That why jones ducked him the next decade because he say how much hopkins learned from that fight. When he lost to Jermain Taylor, Many believe he won both fights. He was 40 yrs old taking on a 27 year old. Lets see Floyd at 40 fight somebody 13 years younger then him and win. But we wont because he is retired and running away from major competition like Margarito, Cotto, Williams, etc. He wont beat all three undefeated. He says he doesn't have nothing to prove, but REAL LEGENDS and GREATS like Hopkins, Jones, Toney, DLH, etc. always feel there is something to prove. That why it is hard for them to hang up the gloves. Floyd left the game with a lot to still prove so thats why he is overrated. Hopkins fights anybody anytime, anyday.
Hopkins overall is the better Greater fighter.

good question....shoulder roll vs strategic clinching

floyd's defense is more aesthetically pleasing and is just as effective as bernards....neither men have really been marked up

but i'll give the nod to floyd...he's like a pernell-lite

okay, now how about looking at what floyd achieved, not who he hasn't fought, and go off of that. it never fails that somebody on here always takes time to criticize floyd for who he didn't fight, when the subject is about something entirely different. this forum gets worst every year with this bull****.

His amatuer career was when he was on the boxing team in prison for the 56 month sentence.
that doesn't count because that is more street fighting in there then actual boxing skills. He never seen actual good BOXING competition. And when he got released he worked at a hotel or something like that and boxed at the gym. OUTSIDE of prision he doesn't have an amatuer career.

Many people in his family boxed before he did.The 95-4 amateur record all happened before he entered prison at the age of 17.
