i agree with the person named "goblin"...i don't know why people refer to him as a small welter,he's pretty big,he's chuby, stocky guy, when he was at jr. welter,he outweighed all of his opponents in almost every fight,he couldn't make 140 anymore,so thats why he moved up,,you want to know who is a small welter? someone like zab judah, his body looked small, skinny, even pacman is a small welter, don't call someone who always outweighed his opponents at 140 and gained a lot of weight between weigh in and fightnight a small welter, his height isn't that much, but he's strong guy.

I dont think Pac should continue at 147 against the real big boys like Cotto or Margarito, both would knock Pacquiao out.
Precisely. Pac said during Hoya fight, he did not control his eating. At weight time, he is only 142 to fight at 147!

        Cotto is too big.

However, you'll never know. Pac seems to still be growing. He might be there by end of next year.

Man. Cotto is no DLH. DLH was an old, past his prime, weight-drained fighter who couldn't pull the trigger.

Cotto is young, fresh, a true welterweight on the rise - he would literally KO Pac. This is a bigger mismatch.

Stylistically, this matchup favors PAC. We already saw a glimpse of Cotto having problems with a southpaw(Judah). Judah simply quits once he feels the pressure, and lets face it, those lowblows had an impact on that fight. PAC is a different kinda animal. I

This fight will be a big mismatch, Cotto is still improving while at his peak. Cotto is too big too strong for Pacquaio. Pacquaio should not fight at WW anymore, he is too small for that division.

And for the people saying that Cotto is not a small WW, well, look at he top WWs, all of them are bigger than Cotto, even Floyd is taller.

Cotto needs to take care of his bussiness with Margarito and if he wins he should head on for Williams or Hatton who is as big of a draw as Pacquaio and is Cotto´s size!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Cotto beats Margarito then this discussion is worth talking about. Also when Margarito beats Williams then Margarito fans can open a discussion with Pac.

Zab is bigger than pac at WW plus stronger and equally faster. Low Blows are part of the game, you tend to hit people low sometimes when you are a body puncher, look at JCC., JLC, War, ect, ect.

One name the continues to come up is former two division champion Miguel Cotto. Cotto is considered a small welterweight and moved up from 140-pounds, where Pacquiao will now campaign. The two fighters are similiar in height and share the same reach at 67-inches. Both fighters are also under contract with the same promotional company, Top Rank. [details]
arum won't make this fight. pac and cotto are his cash cows... the only way he makes this fight is to cash out on one of them. Right now there is no reason for them to fight. Cotto needs to beat money marg otherwise this fight isn't happening.

roach will make cotto fight pac at a catchweight or no fight... that means this fight isn't happening.

Yeah, this fight would have to be at 140lbs. But I still think PAC would look better against Cotto than Hatton. Unless we see the same Fatton that fought Collazo.
