Brendon Smith, trainer of lightweight contender Michael Katsidis, contacted BoxingScene.com regarding recent comments that were published on the popular Aussie website Sports Nut, and later reported on this very site. Per the comments reported on Sports Nut, Smith predicted that Hatton would break Pacquiao down in a similiar fashion as he did to Kostya Tszyu several years ago. [details]

These guys are wannabes on the wish list of Pacquiao... Katisidis and his trainers are becoming ****s and too obssessed on Pacquiao. When you're coming from a KO loss against Casa and a defeat against Diaz yoiu wish to fight Manny? Pac has bigger fish to fry. You're just bums trying to cash out and getting attention by sticking to Pacquiao's butt.Comment

That's a bit more sensible that the last article.
I agree. Brutal fight. But Pac comes out on top.

As if you can take anything Smith says seriously after listening to his corner advise for Katsidis's last two fights.

I have been watching Pacs career for awhile now and til now he has been continuing to put together his arsenal.
Take for example is days with MAB and the first JMM fight. He came out as a relentless swinger, jab, jab, straight left. Thats all he was known for and fighters capitalized on it (Marquez figured it out)
Pacs first loss to Morales required him to improve his right which we saw more in their second and third encounter. After Pac destroyed Morales in their third, analysts and experts mentioned that Pac was at his prime with his 3rd KO of Morales. This was around the end of 2006. Pacs fights with MAB 2 and JMM 2 continued to see Pac improve but in some cases still be off balance with his punches.
Pacs fight with Diaz has proved that he has worked on his right hook, right uppercut, and footwork. In my opinion the best Pac has ever looked prior to the Delahoya fight and I thought this was Pac at his Prime. The experts made a statement after the Diaz fight that Diaz was the perfect opponent for Pac to show off his new arsenal. I thought, well maybe their right. Delahoya would perform better against Pac then Diaz would so we shouldnt expect to see the same Pac that fought Diaz in the DLH fight.
We all saw Pacs performance in his fight with DLH, the obvious straight left was their, right hook at times, but what impressed me the most was his head movement, foot work, defense, and even countering DLH jabs. Pac continues to grow after each fight and his flaws are starting to smooth out. Are we now seeing Pac at his prime? Every fight he continues to show something new.
With this being said, I believe we will see another spectacular performance by the Pacman coming into his fight with Hatton. Roach will put together a game plan that requires Hatton to stay on the outside. Pac will be coming into this fight with too many advantages
1. Footwork
2. Head Movement
3. Speed (Kills)
4. Stamina
Im not saying Pacs going to walk all over Hatton (although it could happen since he did walk over DLH) but Hatton will be in for a long night.Last edited by trainhard_187; 12-27-2008, 05:11 AM.Comment

BRUTAL for HATTON!!!Also, add in HATTON'S reach is 20inches to MANNY'S 25!!!!Listen when JUAN LAZCANO whose been retired for 14 months working at a BARBECUE RESTARAUNT out of TEXAS comes out and trains for 2 months at 37 and has you out on your feet its TROUBLE.MAYWEATHER ko'd HATTON with 10 oz gloves,MAYWEATHER NEVER KO'D anyone with 10oz gloves, and as far as HATTON-COLLAZO ,I was there at the BANKNORTH and COLLAZO was ROBBED with HATTON again out on his feet towards the end.Lets not forget that COLLAZO'S NEXT FIGHT was against a 36 yearold MOSLEY who absolutly dominated him.HATTON-PAQUIA will be a 3 round butchering by MANNY ,HATTON will be seriously beat up!!!Comment

It's only going to be brutal for Hatton since Manny's defense is like a billion times better then Hattons defense ever was. With all respect to david diaz, I really can see Manny doing what he to diaz to Hatton but stopping Hatton earlier since Hatton cuts so damn easily. Malignaggi barely landed any punches on hatton and managed to cut Hatton... The only round Paulie won was the first, atleast on my scorecard.Comment
