Salvador sanchez vs pacman

Honestly, this is a very uninformed opinon. P4P salvador's skills were tremendous, the fact that the professor (as pointed out by others in the thread) hit him with all he had only to see sanchez just walk him down, honestly, the pac of today still squares up, the pac of today still doesnt like it to the body, the pac of today gets a bit fatigued in the later rounds of his recent fights (marquez, late in the diaz fight, pac was looking a bit winded but diaz couldnt take advantage).
The pac of today is still the same pac who fought marquez, judging by what i saw against marquez, pac gets his ass handed to him by sanchez, because sanchez could take a punch and i dont think pac could take it getting broke down by him a full 12-15 rounds.Comment

we will never know that...
SAL never tried to leave 126, maybe their was a reason for that ...
some fighters can not carry their power just one division up, PAC carried his up to 10...
PAC of today is just to big, strong & fast for the SAL that I have remember in my youth, but would concede that Sanchez can beat the PAC at 126...
First of all, Pac has carried his power against oppnents who have stood there to be hit and are nowhere near their prime, in diaz case, he was the worst beltholder in the division. Second of all, Sanchez fought in a different era, you had more legit fighters fighting in one weight class, plus a couple less weight classes, so there was less reason to just jump up and down. Honestly, pac had one fight at 135 and another at 147, neither opponent was in their prime, both opponents practically stood there to be hit, neither is what sanchez would do. Im being serious, moving up in weight or not, thats like saying "Bernard hopkins beats ray robinson at lightheavy". Maybe, but Pacs best weight was 126/130. These fights at 135 havent shown me much other than guys who are past it, pac beats with ease. I may sound harsh, but this is an alltime great who had an iron chin and would just keep coming, and Manny doesnt like it to the body, and manny still squares up when he unloads and sanchez would pick up on that and adjust and break him.Comment

Pac squares up, he doesnt exactly exemplify the southpaw stance like a guy like judah/whitaker does, im being serious, as soon as pac squares up, sanchez will pick up on it, if JMM can do it, Sanchez is going to do and its gonna hurt alot worse. Pac does throw alot less when you time him. This is something i fear would happen in the mayweather/pac fight. The moment pac squares up to unload, a timed hook over the jab/straight right hand stops him in his tracks.Comment

A few thing to think about:
Sanchez was liable to fight (down sometimes) to the level of his competition. He did that with both Patrick Cowdell and Ruben Castillo. By no means did he always go in and just steamroll his opponents. He always triumphed (Nelson, Ford, LaPorte), but he wasn't just walking over guys.
Azumah Nelson was about as raw as it gets when he fought Sanchez. He was wide with his punches, he fought in bursts and he largely lacked the footwork he showed later in his career. He really just had no experience. By the time he fought Gomez he showed that he had corrected a good deal of that. He was countering well with the right hand, he was in better position to get his own punches off, he was more consistent with his offense etc. He still fought in short spurts a little bit here and there though. What carried him through that Sanchez fight was his high energy, great chin and brute strength.
I could see Pacquiao making it a very uncomfortable fight for Sanchez for a good portion of the fight. It would take Sal awhile to adjust to the speed and volume of Pacquiao's punches, even if they were predominantly jabs and left hands. I believe Sanchez would collect himself after awhile, swinging the momentum of the fight by timing Pacquiao with long straight right hands and uppercuts inside. Sanchez had a pretty damn good uppercut when he used it. He'd get that jab working well later in the fight...I'd take Sanchez by unanimous decision in a 12 rounder.Comment
