Actually they are. If we read books on the history of boxing some do tell you the ins and outs of what was going on. This is why Tyson knows about fighter's lives: Where they were born; where they grew up; how many brothers and sisters he had; what shoes they wore; what they liked to eat; how they lived their life; what was going on at the time of the fight; etc.

There is even a whole book based on what happened between Tyson and Douglas. I skimmed the book at Barnes & Nobles. OK read. Of course, it's always better to gather a whole slew of information and not base it on one book. And it is simpler to just look at Wins and Losses.

It's the same with any history. If you like Napoleon, you can read several books on what was going on during the build-up and fight at Waterloo. And even thoughts from the Duke of Wellington about the battle.

Here is something simple since it is Christams: Jesus was a *** that was crucified by the Romans; the end. Simple, short, Zen.

True, but Freddie was the one that said he took the fight because "Oscar couldn't pull the trigger."

And was this all to it for Pac: Pac lost by KO twice; the end? Maybe.

Tell this to the posters that think a fighter should fight past his prime.

Interesting note: Freddie said he would like Pac to retire after two more fights. Unless Pac is brutally beaten in those fights, I think there is a possibility he would be retiring in his prime. I'm for it by the way: retire when you are on top and healthy...retire when you want.

Depends on how you want to view it. His hands have been messed up for a long time now.

How many surgeries has he gone through?

And what does a fighter need when he fights; Would that be his hands?

If a fighter goes into a fight feeling he will break his hands if he punches, that takes a toll on you mentally which means you are no longer Mentally fit to fight. So, if you add Mental and Physical decline to the report, that equals, Past prime or "shot," since he can't pull the trigger. He's not Punch-drunk shot; not even close; but it is a different matter of current condition.

For me Koysta Tszyu was never the same after the Phillips fight, though in a way i saw the old Tszyu in the 2nd Mitchell fight. The first Mitchell fight is very under rated and was entertaining and Mitchell deserves credit for his performance in that fight.

Benny must be in love w/ Freddie or Freddie must've sodomized Benny's sister. This guy can't lay off the guy's nuts for a second, he's his main argument for every thing. How convenient.

I think, as was mentioned in other threads, that Oscar was trying to prove he could easily make 147 again after so many years, and still perform at his best.

In his mind, he probably believed he would be even faster and lighter on his feet.

Who knows what was really going on behind the scenes?

He could have just postponed the fight, and claimed an injury in training to make the proper adjustments, but chose to "go on with the show" being that Christmas was quickly approaching.

As the promoter, he may have wanted to end the year in spectacular fashion, and given the fans a FOTY. But somewhere along the way the script was flipped and only Manny looked great doing it.

He's trying to do some reverse psychology and justify Floyd Sr.'s comment regarding Pac-DLH and discrediting Pac's win because somehow he feels Pac's win over DLH overshadows Floyd's. LOL!

There are always going to be issues with every fight.

The only objective way to look at the outcome of a fight is to disregard them.

                    Sure, Manny got KO'd twice.

Then went on to have an illustrious career.

I think too many people feel that a loss is the end all be all of a fighters career and credibility. This is simply not the case.

A lot of fighter's greatests moments have come after a devestating loss.

I personally think it brings out the best in some people.

When cats dislike a fighter they'll make any excuse they can to **** on his victories. Pretty simple.
