Meldrick Taylor was SHOT he couldn't beat tough man club fighters at the end.

    Bowe is shot

    Tyson shot

Hopkins is past his best but is also in better shape than most 20 year olds he's no where near 'shot' right now.

Exactly. And neither is Oscar. Had Oscar been through some major wars since he fought Forbes and taken huge amounts of punishment, there is a good chance he could be shot.

Of course fighters become shot, but not within months and for no reason at all. They become shot from taking serious amounts of damage. My problem is with the people who throw the word "shot" around without considering what they are even saying. They think they can say a fighter is shot after losing only one fight and try to convince everyone else that this settles their argument.

Weight drained and past prime are victim statements.

A loss is a loss is a loss at the end of the day, and regardless of what anyone wants to argue, weight drained and past prime are not documented in the record books.
so many sore losers and hypocrits on these boards.

If people were only concerned about what was written in the record books, this forum would not exist.

Although I respect the thread creators point, I do feel that it's necessary sometimes to 'qualify' a victory. For example, consider these fights:

Hatton's KO of Castillo- Castillo was clearly showing signs of being a 'shot' fighter and was easily knocked out by the much fresher Hatton. This was a very impressive win by Hatton but against a very limited opponent.

Larry Holmes TKO of Muhammad Ali- Ali was also very much past his prime and was even starting to show signs of Parkinson's disease before the fight, when he fought Larry Holmes. Larry Holmes doesn't get much credit for this fight because of the aforementioned reasons.

And was this all to it for Pac: Pac lost by KO twice; the end? Maybe.
What about Pacquiao resume >>>> Mayweather resume.. end...
