Maybe not, but I know a man named WIlt Chamberlaine that would have outrebounded him no problem. First off, David Haye should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Rocky Marciano first of all. Furthermore, boxing today is different that it was then, if Rocky were around today with todays training methods and suppliments as well as only fighting 10-12 round fights he would be significantly bigger than the 185 lbs he was fighting at that time. On the other hand, Haye would probably be the same size he were at cruiserweight if he didn't have access to todays suppliments and had to fight 15 round fights. Rocky was as strong as an ox, had a steel chin, had an iron will to win, with unbelieveable power. Muhammed Ali said that the old Rocky Marciano he was playing around with in that computer fight had his arms sore for a week and Rocky was only playing around not seriously punching him. If Haye had stood in front of the Rock exchanging punches, he would have surely been knocked out inside of 4 rounds.

Marciano is a high pressure fighter and Haye does not like to be pressured. If you want to know how Haye reacts to pressure look at his fight amateur fight against Solis in 1991. It looked like Haye had the fight won the first round then quit and handed it to Solis on a platter. Sadly he has engaged in similar kinds of behavior as a pro. Marciano would beat Haye by harrassing him consistently round after round. Incidently, this is the correct strategy for Vitali Klitschko to use on Haye. Just go after him until he quits.

Solis is big as Haye and Haye had him hurt in the first round and would have stopped him if they ref did not stop it.
Marciano is small and has no defense at all. Haye would KO pretty bad

At the end of the day it's a fantasy match up

Marciano fought bigger men than Haye, however size don't mean ****. Styles make fights, and character (or lack of it) creates outcomes.

The great Carl Thompson fought most of his fights at 185-190 lbs. Lolenga Mock was a super middleweight journeyman.

Being fast, strong and quick did not stop Haye from losing to a sick old man.
