You have all, not suprisingly, misunderstood the point of the thread. I was in no way comparing the fighting styles of the two fighters, but rather the thinking among spectators prior to the fight.

The general logic before Pavlik-Hopkins was that Pavlik was an unstoppable, youthful force who would make quick work of a fighter who had been unconvincing in his last few fights.

Hm...how do most people perceive Pac right about now? Maybe the new, unstoppable superstar in boxing who will make quick work of a fighter who has been unconvincing in his last few fights? (Hatton)....

    Hm...

Of course I wasn't making a stylistic comparison between Pac and Pavlik you idiots. I have watched Pac's last three fights live, and I've seen Pavlik a couple times in AC. I'm well aware of their differences, and I wasn't making that kind of comparison.

What he failed to mention is that Hopkins would school Pavlik no matter what the weight. Does anyone seriously think Pavlik would have stood a better chance if the fight was at 160 instead of 170? If that's a "yes", you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Hatton is much more like Pavlik than Pacquiao. It's hard to believe someone even made the comparison of Pac = Pavlik.

In this case, Pac is Hopkins. Not the other way round.
Listen... considering the beating Pavlik took from Hokins, I will in NO WAY say that had Pavlik fought Hopkins at 160 the outcome would have been any different. But considering that Pavlik beat Taylor twice at that weight who had beaten Hopkins at that weight, I think it might have been a factor.

Of course. That was obvious to anyone who took the 45 seconds necessary to read the thread. And of course... on this site you can't expect anyone to do that.

We have a fighter who is coming off a string of very impressive fights, and garners a massive amount of momentum and following, but is ultimately untested. Now, Pac is not UNTESTED in the same sense as Pavlik, but he is in the sense that since his move to a heavier weight class he hasn't fought anyone who has managed to connect regularly, so we have NO idea how he will react to getting hit by a bigger guy.

So, much like when Bernard took that pale, non-descript, fraud ***** to school, you will see Pac get crumbled by a NATURAL LWW, who has NEVER lost at that weight, and all this hype will be deflated.

Can't ****ing wait for this fight.
Hatton will come forward, eat hard straights, get all cut up..then koed.

Ok. Then. Do you have a point? Or are you going to keep recycling throw away lines that constantly appear on this site from self-assured losers who have nothing more than an agenda?

Oh wait, I know you're response because it's so original: Epic Fail.

                  Here's mine: You suck.

This has nothing to do with nationalism, and it has nothing really to do with personal preference. I have no problems with Manny Pac as a person, in fact I think he seems pretty cool and I admire how he uses his money to help people - moreover, I love watching his fights. My opinion is in no way being vocalized to somehow belittle Manny Pac as a fighter, or draw some lines between the US and Britain, so shut the **** up.

Secondly, despite what these people who sound like they would enjoy being Pacman's personal testicle massage therapist - they have reality to face. Manny Pac, for all his gifts in speed, power, and heart - is not made of Granite. I watched the Pac-Marquez II fight today and he is OFTEN wobbled by straight right hands from Marquez, and when he puts his punches together Marquez in a few moments gets close to putting Pac on his ass.

So if a FEATHERWEIGHT can do that to Pacman, how's a STRONG light welterweight going to make him feel? Don't be a ******. He's going to get laid the **** out.
