all the joe haters coming in full force LOL
The lazy fat americans are terrified of this guy, their best fighter not only lost but got his ass savagely torn in the process! hahaha
Even the great Roy Jones got outclassed, his cut was so large you could fit a tennis ball in there. Its only natural for the best to recieve the most haters, jealously at its finest.

With the main difference that Calzaghe scored knockouts or wide decisions over the guys that Ottke needed controversial decisions to beat. The only exception is Reid, when Calzaghe scored a close decision over a guy Ottke needed the help of the ref and judges to beat.

Calzaghe also beat Lacy, Kessler, and past-prime versions of Eubank and Hopkins. Those four wins are better than anything on Ottke's resume. Sure, Ottke beat Johnson by disputed decision, but so did several others (Johnson lost 5 of his next 7 fights). Hell, considering that Sheika beat Johnson, and Calzaghe TKO'D Sheika, it could be said that Calzaghe has 5 wins better than anything Ottke managed.

Roy Jones fought for a vacant belt a MW. It's debatable how meaningful things like that are when you consider who the opponent was.

If we're looking at it from the point of view of who took a harder fight, then Calzaghe, despite never having gone 12 rounds before, challenged Steve Collins (who had never been KO'D). Collins pulled out less than 2 weeks beforehand, and Calzaghe agreed to fight Eubank (who had also never been KO'D). Both guys had gone the distance many times, and though past prime, had a lot of advantages over a young, inexperienced, untested prospect.

Calzaghe had been a pro for 4 years when he fought for a belt. Hatton had been a pro for 8 years. Tszyu was better than Eubank, sure. But Calzaghe had a lot less experience, and took 4 years less than Hatton to step up.

Sure, Ricky fought Maussa (rather than Cotto, who KTFO Maussa), and credit to him for that. Who cares if Maussa never won another fight? Hatton deserves credit for taking on the guy rated 7th best in the division. However Calzaghe beat guys who were rated higher than 7th on multiple occasions.

I'm not sure that those fights were as reachable for Calzaghe as you make out. Certainly, I don't remember either approaching Calzaghe for a fight and him turning them down, as Hatton allegedly did to Mayweather when they were both at 140.

Fighting the best and losing is admirable, so yes, I can give credit to Hatton and Judah. But Calzaghe's best win is better than Hatton's. Calzaghe stepped up sooner, has fought more top 10 rated opposition, unified more times, won more Ring belts, more ABC belts, beaten a guy on the P4P list etc.

Sometimes its really hard to understand him. That HBO special thing with that fat supposed to be funny guy who interviewed both fighters was especially difficult to understand Joe.

Most real fans have memorized the sentences he usually speaks. So we can sort of fill in any difficult to hear gaps from memory.

Do British people understand when Zab Judah speaks? I don't even know if Zab understands when Zab Judah speaks.

I don't like to give credit to protected fighters, despite their records. Calslappy knows he can still fight, but rather bask in his little glory until everyone forgets about him. Good for him....*****.
