Against elusive fighters, Marg will look silly. It was Cotto, who is not particularly known for his speed or elusiveness, and he was able to make Margarito look foolish for the first 6-7 rounds. This is why i say that Floyd has the ability to box circles around Margarito.

        Your thoughts?
I don't like Marg at all nor do I like his clown ass jockriding racist fans.

But this question is silly. I mean sure we all know he doesn't have much skill but this is like asking where Ali, or Jones would be without speed, or Foreman without power.

This thread will just inspire hate on a natural attribute. I say, just be impressed by it. It won't last forever.

Cotto essentially quit, but quitting is a relative term in boxing.

In most uses, the word "quit" has a VERY negative connotation. However, with Cotto and Vazquez, they didn't disgrace themselves. They gave everything they had, anyone that says Cotto didn't leave his heart in that ring on July 26th is kidding themselves. He had nothing left, nothing. He gave it his all and it just wasn't enough on that night.

He voluntarily took two knees, he essentially said no mas. Cotto fans, you can't say the corner threw in the towel he didn't quit, he did. You don't take two knees, throw no punches, and expect the fight to continue, he knew what he was doing. But I don't think he should be condemned for it. Like it would have been better for him to get up and just get the **** beaten out of him. People would have respected him more for that? Thats unbelievably ******. He was very competitive in the fight, and whoever said he got outclassed in the latter rounds is crazy. He was gradually wearing down no doubt, but those rounds were hard to score because Cotto was landing many clean punches. Hell, I thought he won the 10th pretty clearly.

But Tony was great, and I think this thread is unnecessary. I hate when people don't give Tony his due, he's toiled in obscurity and finally had his breakout win. As much as I hated watching it, he earned it, end of story.

Great post and all true. I really like Cotto (not some of his dumb **** fans) and it was not fun to watch at first being as I'm not a fan of Marg.

But give Margs some props. Great win, great chin. He def. was a monster in this fight and deserves tons of credit for what he did. I've rarely seen anything like that in boxing.

            Great post.

For the 45th time. A chin isnt something u can learn, nor is it a skill. Im not a boxer, but im sure if i trained for a few years, i would learn how to put more power in my punches. Same thing goes for speed.

Where did i ever discredit Marg's win in this thread? The thread topic had nothing to do with him earning, or not earning his win over Cotto. I merely asked a simple question regarding his chin.

Speed can be improved, but it is natural. You have an upper limit that is natural. Same thing with power. You can increase your power, but there is an upper limit.

Just like you can learn to take punches but your chin is natural. In the end there is an upper/lower limit.

Please don't try to differentiate chin /speed until you've been in a gym. You can increase your speed all you want but you'll never be as fast as some people who have never/barely trained. That's where skill comes in.

Speed is mostly natural, but reflexes are for sure, and many of the quickest fighters rely heavily on reflexes. Roy Jones Jr, Mayweather, etc, guys who are gifted with attributes they didn't develop or improve. So yeah, I totally agree.
