Where would Margarito be today had he NOT had a granite chin?

I rewatched the Cotto/Marg fight last night, and damn did Cotto land some hard bombs/combos over and over again on Margs head! As i watched the fight, it thought to myself "damn is this guy lucky he can take a punch". In the end, Marg's constant pressure and ability to take a punch is what won him the fight. Against elusive fighters, Marg will look silly. It was Cotto, who is not particularly known for his speed or elusiveness, and he was able to make Margarito look foolish for the first 6-7 rounds. This is why i say that Floyd has the ability to box circles around Margarito.

Where would Mayweather be without his speed?

Where would Pernell Whitaker be without reflexes?

Where would Kostya Tszyu be without his power?

Where would Ali be without his height?

        All pretty pointless arguments, really.

With regards to Margarito-Mayweather, the reason I think Mayweather would not beat Margarito is because Margarito has it in him to keep coming all night, relentless pressure and has the height advantage where Mayweather would be short with his counter punches and be forced to extend himself.

Mayweather wouldn't take the fight and I don't blame him; the odds just aren't in his favor.

Lets try not to turn this into a hate/bash thread. What i want to know is, based on his skills and boxing ability, do his fans think he would be in the position he is now had he had an average chin?

My first thought would be a coffin! The guys took some HELLACIOUS shots!
He needs his chin like Foreman needed his Power or like Valuev his height.

I agree tho as good as Margarito is Mayweather would really embaress him!

All fighters of his type will have a good chin by necessity. Chin is part of the style.
