This fight alone should give any Floyd fan worries that Pac could possibly beat him. Floyd hasn't been on top of his game for a while. The only time he looked good was later on in the fight when he decided to open up.

I think he was just following his game plan. He would let Hatton be the aggressor and attack with lead left hooks and straight rights. It worked to perfection. Another thing that people forget is whenever Hatton tried to tie up,Mayweather would hold on tight so neither fighter could get punches off. Cortez had no other choice but to break them up.

...you are making excuses for a ref giving a boxer the advantage over a brawler...if Cortez would have let Hatton do his work, the fight would have been a lot different...it's a good thing that Marciano wasn't fighting today, he would have never made it in the top 10 with today's refs...

I don't think you understood what I typed. Whenever Hatton got on the inside, Mayweather grappled him so neither fighter could get a punch off. Hatton couldn't do anything until Cortez broke them up.

Isn't that illegal? I thought a ref was obligated to break up clinches? Look at the video of the first round and tell me if Cortez did anything wrong.
