Cheers Bringer. Calzaghe will always be one of my favourite fighters, and sometimes it's difficult to describe why you like a fighter so much, or a thing or person, it just fits and you understand them. I can't see myself having quite the full passion for another boxer for some time as that would be glory hunting, boat swapping or whatever. But there's a lot of boxers I really like as a fan and obviously Calzaghe retiring encourages that even more.

God knows on Roy, he probably should retire, but I must say I'd like to see him beat someone half respectable to show he's not as shot as is often made out. A lot said Hopkins was shot after Calzaghe and that was exposed as bull, not saying the two are similar but still, he could possibly take a few guys out with the upper cuts he landed on a quicker Joe.

I actually don't think Calzaghe's as arrogant as is often thought. The same goes for Hopkins. I think you have to watch a lot of video's and find out a lot about them, see them in some video's when there just around family/friends seeing them as normal people not the boxing face, to really judge. Both Hopkins and Calzaghe can be arrogant arse holes at times, but damn sound and charitable at others, which is actually what I find really interesting about them.

Nathan Cleverly he live in my bloody streey haha.

        Kessler I like.

I don't restrict myself to liking just the one boxer.

I am British but still undecided who i want to win out between Vitali and Haye as I like both boxers. I do not like Froch. I do not like Enzo. I like Hatton.

Nope, not a fan of his style at all. Like him enough as a person and a brave warrior though I spose. I think Pac will spank him.

Blatantly a lot of people not Calzaghe fans have voted Kessler, Manfredo and **** as a joke to make the fans look bad. Half disappointingly lame, half amusing.

Sometimes it's hard to make the switch after you get so wrapped up in one particular guy. I had that problem when Hopkins retired briefly after Tarver in 2006. Had the same problem when Barrera retired after the Pacquiao rematch, but I'm wishing him well in his comeback.

Both of them are going to retire in the next year or two, and that's going to be a tough pill for me to swallow. Hell I've been watching Hopkins since I was about 11 years old, and I'm 23 now. Time flies.

Speaking of Roy, I was watching TV earlier and I'll be damned if on one of the channels it wasn't an episode of Snoop Dogg's TV show, and he was sparring with Roy in the ring. Caught me completely off guard.

****, I'm still waiting for a reply to some questions from Kessler. He's seems like a good dude, so hopefully he gets the time to write back one day.

As for the poll, I'm already a fan of two of those fighters (Hopkins, Kessler). I was a Hopkins fan way back in the late 90's (after he beat Johnson, whenever that was... '97, I think?). Nobody over here knew who he was, so I used to get friends to send VHS tapes from the states. He was virtually unknown in the UK until beating Trinidad.

The rest of the fighters on the poll I'm not too fussed about, but I will definitely watch Hatton whenever he fights.

EDIT: I'll make a correction here, I didn't see Haye's name on the poll at first. David Haye is an exciting fighter who I've kept an eye on since he turned pro. Saw one of his very first pro fights on some cheap-ass British fight show late one night. He absolutely demolished whoever it was he was fighting. The opponent was completely forgettable but Haye looked awesome. I can't find anything to dislike about him.

On the issue of Kessler, I just don't know about the guy at all. He seems like a pretty well rounded, technically proficient fighter. But he's 31 years old, with over 40 pro fights, and has done nothing amazing whatsoever. His best win is over Andrade, who, while a good guy in real life, is not a stellar opponet by any means.

He only has a few years left to start making any kind of headway with big opponets, and the only way I see is for him to goto 175lbs. Otherwise he'll be another footnote in the history of Super Middleweights. A nice record overall, with no real standout opponets. Aside from Joe, whom he lost to quite convincingly.

Agreed on that one. Hatton's a good fighter and seems like a decent guy, I just think he isn't quite up there with the best. Pac will kick his ass.

LOL. I voted Kessler. Wasn't taking the piss or anything. He is my favourite from the list and from what I have seen most JoeC fans appreciate his skills. Anyone voting Manfredo, yeah, obviously taking the piss.
