I think he knows and understands this. He's content with that. And he's doing it the right way by way of eliminator fights. People act as if he's coming back all of a sudden and wanting the top dogs. He's content to work his way up again. Some guys wouldn't even want to do that.

Im actually glad that Guzman didnt end up fighting, it wouldve been terrible to see him get hurt. but its his own fault he was that dehydrated, and he not only screwed himself over, he screwed Campbell and Showtime too(and the viewers). Im not one to hold grudges, but you have to admit he was very irresponsible, and you cant blame people for being mad at him.
I can understand why people are angry about that...but even before the Nate fight. Guzman NEVER got any respect around here...He dominated Barrios and made Soto look so damn average. By sayin this...I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm jumping the gun

But Guzman is really one of those special fighters and I don't see anyone at 135 beatin him. His speed/ defense is the best at 135...his chin is Soto/ Barrios approved...as we've seen. He'll actaully take a hit on the chin on purpose. The only fighter I've been that impressed with at 130-135 was Mayweather

During the Nate/ Guzman weigh in Guzman was 3 pounds over weight. At first I said "No big deal, I seen alot of fighters lose that quickly so he'll fight" but as I saw he made no attempt to make weight...I knew something was wrong with him.

I just hope he fights more often and earns everyone's respect.

The problem is that while Im quick to forgive him, major TV stations are not. they wont want to risk another situation with the weight, even though it seems pretty unlikely he owuld have that problem again. its not going to be easy for him to get big fights now, and his career could be caught in limbo from now on.

hope not, but its very possible.

That's what he intends to do, and it's his only option. But you're right about him getting 0 respect even before the weight problem with Campbell. The people who hated on him then, still hate his guts now, but they have an actual reason to use this time out.

Last I heard he was. Though I am admittedly a bit out of the loop on the title scene right now. I'm playing catch up, as I haven't been on in weeks.

                  yeah definetly

he's willing to work his way back to the top instead of expecting special treatment because of his name

I like the way he fights so I'll still be rooting for Guzman

Exactly. A lot of guys wouldn't be willing to do what Guzman is doing, considering his record and being a former Champ and all. They would throw their last name around, and ***** a fit trying to get back to the top without having to earn it.
