He's boring, he runs around 75% of the time and boxes only around 10% of the time, the rest of the time he showboats as if doing that would make his patsy opponent kiss the canvas. He's a joke, running around the ring as if his patsy opponent was somebody within the top 100 list P4P. He only looks good because the guy in front of him is mediocre, he's old, he's got no power and his lack of discipline is his legacy as of the moment. Won against patsy Diaz, yes he did, DOMINATED him, I don't think so and I'm sure he outweighed the guy by 10lbs easy.

Man you guys are way too harsh on these fighters. It's no wonder they never come around here to talk to us.
You forget the fact that Guzman was coming off of a layoff of over a year, had weight problems, and had to goto the hospital after the Campbell weigh in for dehydration and coughing up blood.
Give the guy a break already. He's already apologized his ass off to the fans and Nate himself.Comment

Aw... lets all take a min and reflect on Joan. The poor guy had weight problems. I mean it isn't like he had months to prepare for the biggest fight of his life. I mean he said he was sorry. We should all be considerate of his situation. I know that Showtime, the Casino, and all fight fans will all be understanding of him and his shortcomings. We should all respect him given how much self respect and professionalism he has shown in the past.Last edited by Zocalo; 12-21-2008, 05:13 PM.Comment

I dont think so.. I didnt see him..
I dont know why either..
I see Guzman doing well in the stacked lightweight division..
He need to fight.. Fight every1..
I can see him beating every1 and having problems with Pac and not so much JMM..
He needs to just throw more and work on the conditioning..
Hes a polished, slick boxer.. Who can hit him?
Hes got a good chin too..
High risk, lower reward, kinda like Clottey..
It is what it is...Comment

Showtime said they will give Guzman a shot. He screwed showtime. HBO will never give this clown a chance. Campbell went bankrupt because of Guzman.Comment

i think some ppl are being too harsh on him here. i was as annoyed as anyone else, i was looking forward to the fight because i quite like guzman i think hes a good fighter and someone who like alot of other good fighters isn't getting the right fights, but in terms of talent and his abilities hes a top 10 p4p fighter, he has fantastic speed, a huge skill set and with mayweather in his corner its an added plus.
him not making weight really p!ssed me off as well, i mean he ws moving up in weight its not as though he was being asked to go down a weight divsion or being asked to stay at a weight class that was not for him. but im willing to forgive and forget, like someone said above hes going to have to do it the hard way.
hes in a pretty full LW division, so it might take him a while but there are plenty of good names in there for him to beat. i can see him taking on katsidis/valero in 2/3 fights but he is a fight or two away from that. it would be a shame for us not to see him against the best the dvision has to offer because he does belong in the same ring as them.Comment

Are you guys ok? They should have some sort of drug test before you can post opinions in here..lol
Then he puts a highlight real with a bunch of no name losers in DR.
Go to Boxrec. 95% of his Knockouts were in DR. Now if they were in Mexico or PR or even the Philippines. I would have gave him a little credit. But to really prove yourself you have to fight in America and not once or twice a yr. By the time this guy gets a chance to prove himself ...his nuthuggers will say after the loss...he was past his prime...lol ...Even before the Nate incident he should have already fought a few names...cmon.Comment

Dude defense reminds me of Pernell Whitaker. He can't be hit and his speed is unmatched right now...if only people could see the talentComment
