He did. He beat Lacy. A young prime champion. And Kessler. A young, prime DOUBLE world champion.

    Give that man a cigar!

The reason some english fans dislike joe calzaghe is probably the same reason some american fans dislike calzaghe.

They were both good wins but Lacy was clearly overhyped. Its the recognition he tries to get from the Hopkins and RJJ fights that pisses me off. If he fought and beat Taylor and Pavlik now then i'd be happy. If he retires hes a *****.

i honestly think jermain taylor is the only one that has the chance to beat JC at this point, well, if he could do something about his stamina, if he could increase that **** more he'd win i think, if not, he'd do as well as B-hop did against joe(maybe worse)

I don't think Taylor has much chance aganst Calzaghe, especially when you consider that the fight would almost certainly be at 175.

Wow. Lacy was certainly not overhyped until Joe beat the crap out of him, was he?

And dude, it you think Pavlik and Taylor would stand a chance, I'm kinda lost for words homeslice.

That's the exact opposite of what I think. In my opinion, Joe should fight Taylor for an easy pay day and an easy night's work, but the fight would still be seen as a legit challenge. In reality, it'd be completely one-sided.

Joe already thinks he'd whup Taylor. When he ran into Bernard (the "I'll never let a white boy beat me" era) he was making fun of Bernard for getting beaten twice by Taylor.

Clearly, he is confident that Taylor would not be a problem.

yea, as of now taylor has no chance at all, but if he had more stamina he could unload more like he did to pavlik, he would'nt be taking the punishment like he did against pavlik as calzaghe does'nt have that kind of power, so he would'nt tire as quick but still, all he needs is more stamina

which probabley just is'nt possible for some people
styles make fights, so dont go magic triangle here

Calazaghes wins over a prime Kessler and a really good Hopkins who destroyed Kelly Pavlik will only get better with age.

Come to think of it, I dont know of any other British boxer in history thats carried the p4p crown before. Calzaghe had it from the time he beat Roy Jones all the way up to the Oscar/pacman fight. Ironically it was Roy Jones that kept Lennox from having it in the early 2000's.

                    Calzaghe is the best.

No magic triangle fro me, dude. But actually, people say triangle theory is bull****. Well, if that's the case, why does pretty much everyone judge a fighter based on who he's beaten? Obviously, there IS some truth to triangle theory.

Taylor hit Pavlik with an elbow, apparently. That's what got Pavlik into trouble and almost knocked out. Whatever, you do what you can in a fight, this ain't no tea party. But still, I don't think Jermain hits hard enough to hurt Calzaghe, even if he upped his work rate X10.

Calzaghe's chin is ****** tough. Jermain wouldn't even make him flinch, and as I always said: if you can't hurt Calzaghe enough to keep him down, you don't win the fight. It's that simple. Nobody has ever out-worked him, nobody has ever beat his stamina, and nobody has adapted to him because he adapts to them first.

No fanboy-ism, this is just how it is. 18 years without losing a fight! Even in amateurs, beating Calzaghe was a HUGE deal, just as it is now.

People might not like him, but damn, if their favorite fighter got a win, we'd never hear the end of it. Calzaghe is THE man to beat. Period.
