Yes they look promising but no way will they ever be the next Pacquiao; fighters from ALA Gym of Cebu already applied for exclusive use of the "next Manny Pacquiao" title.

Did you box there? There's gotta be some personal story with you and ala gym somewhere.

I bet it's pretty good, too.

They banned me in Pacland because I said ALA fighters do nothing but destroy the reputation of Philippine boxing the likes of Elorde, Espinosa and Pacquiao painstakingly built by hyping-up ALA fighters through then-popular Philippine boxing website mannypacquiao.ph, making the ALA fighters believe they are bigger than they actually are, and making Filipino fans blindly support them not because of their skills but for the sole reason that they are Filipino. To make matters worse, self-confessed ALA Gym supporters keep slandering rival managers and fighters like Donaire and Concepcion despite their continued success in the international stage and discrediting the achievements of Luzon-based fighters by starting a smear campaign against them calling them "tangalogs" or idiots.

That's the story, not pretty good really, but that's the truth. I've been a fan of Philippine boxing since Navarette won against Boza Edwards, and it really irks me to hear Cebuanos brag that Philippine boxing would be nothing without them.
