that's the thing... i don't think there is a good enough fight for him right now apart from a Calzaghe rematch

hmm... i don't think so. the fact that Hopkins pushed Calzaghe to his limits and arguably beat him when they last fought, and then absolutely destroyed the man Calzaghe was supposedly "ducking" is surely enough to warrant his status as a challenge and worthy of a rematch if Joe was gonna give one

end of the day, i don't think Hopkins gains enough from a Kessler bout to waste one of his last ever fights on him

I don't think kessler motivates hopkins enough at this point (hops will be 44 in jan) and hopkins needs that extra motivation to fight, like he had against pavlik.

A fight with kessler while on paper might be the best available fight, where is the motivation? Kessler is a no name in the states and lost to calzaghe and hopkins has already cemented his legacy and has nothing more to prove.

If anything I think he will either retire, or do something absolutely crazy or unthinkable, like go up in weight to cruiser or even heavyweight. Like I said he needs motivation and he loves when people say he cannot do something.

What people seem to not grasp is the fact that both Kessler and Hopkins lost to Calzaghe and if Hop wants a rematch with Cal,knocking out the Dane would be the best route.

Why would Hopkins take Calzaghe's left overs? No offense, but it's not like Kessler is the big recognized champion like Pavlik was. Not to mention Calzaghe already made Kessler look pretty basic. It's not worth the time for Hopkins.

"Well warp, there's been talks of Adamek. Why would he want Dawson's left overs?"

Well Adamek is recognized as the cruiser champion and obviously the bigger man. I'm not interested and it's not that good of a match up, but I think it's better then a Kessler fight. Kessler has done NOTHING besides getting a belt against some nobody.

              I hope Hopkins fights Dawson

there is no guarantee that calzaghe will give hopkins a rematch if he beats kessler, in fact calzaghe never made any hints that he would.

Besides hopkins needs a fight now, he said that he has one more fight left and it has to be soon, he cant wait a year or more, **** he turns 44 in a few weeks.

was beating Pavlik not a more note-worthy win? the guy everyone was calling for Calzaghe to fight, saying Calzaghe was ducking... instead of beating Calzaghe's left-overs (an easily dismissed victory) he beat the guy Calzaghe should have been fighting

the Pavlik win and closeness of the first fight were enough to secure a rematch, and the fact that Calzaghe wouldn't give one after that shows that he isn't gonna give B-Hop one whatever happens

I might be a minority here but I hope Hopkins retires. That would be great to retire following careerperformance he had against Pavlik.

Don't you think that would add pressure for a rematch, beating one of Calzaghe's best wins more convincingly than he did?
