not really because hopkins would be the favorite to win the fight anyways. Hops has already proven time and time again he will always beat simplistic fighters.

the Pavlik win and closeness of the first fight were enough to secure a rematch, and the fact that Calzaghe wouldn't give one after that shows that he isn't gonna give B-Hop one whatever happens
Kessler is the main thing that holds Calzaghe's resume together and with that piece eliminated it will deminish a good portion of his legacy IMO. Calzaghe may want to exact revenge on Hopkins for doing so. I feel the same thing would happen if Dawson beat Kessler,Cal would come after him as well. Just MO.

I don't see how a Taylor/Kessler fight can't happen. Granted Taylor has a title shot against Froch but once that gets out of the way surely it can happen. It's a shame the fight against Miranda didn't happen as Kessler wouldn't be in the predicament he's in now.

If Taylor don't fight Froch, Mikkel should go after him.

I agree. The only way I want to see Hopkins fight again would be in a rematch vs. Calzaghe. I know you don't agree with me there though.. Me being such a Hopkins fan, I would love to see him avenge his loss.

"Well warp, there's been talks of Adamek. Why would he want Dawson's left overs?"

Well Adamek is recognized as the cruiser champion and obviously the bigger man. I'm not interested and it's not that good of a match up, but I think it's better then a Kessler fight. Kessler has done NOTHING besides getting a belt against some nobody.

              I hope Hopkins fights Dawson
He was happy enough to take Shane Mosley's left overs and Kessler looked far from basic against Calzaghe.

I explained in another thread why B-Hop won't fight Kessler

B-Hop likes to play the PIMP or CAPO in the game....not the HOE or the HUSTLER.....in other words, you have to BEAT somebody that Hopkins lost to.....that bothers him.
as of now Kessler hasn't beaten anybody worth B-Hop's time and we all know association breeds simularities.....so by B-Hop's standards Kessler isn't WORTH his time......Kessler is tryin' to PIMP B-Hop because there's nothing to gain for B-Hop in beating Kessler....somebody Calzaghe ALREADY beat....for titles or a title that Calzaghe vacated if B-Hop was into left overs he would be tryin' to recycle RJJ....I'm quite sure Glen Johnson would love for Kessler's peeps to give them a call...

what the hell has Mikkel Kessler ever done to earn a fight with Bernard Hopkins? who the hell does Kessler think he is - one of the best in the sport?

How does Kessler getting beat by B-Hop or Dawson in any way 'eliminate' his significance to Calzaghe's 'legacy'? B-Hop is the #3 p4p fighter. Dawson is thought by many to be top 10. Both are light-heavyweights, while Kessler is a super middleweight who (like Froch) has no delusions about his ability, or lack of it, to move up.

Calzaghe wouldn't give a toss if B-Hop beat Kessler. He beat B-Hop, end of. Likewise why would he care if Dawson beat Kessler (which he probably would do)? The only thing that would harm Kessler's impact on Calzaghe's 'legacy' would be a losses to genuine SMW contenders. And none of them have the balls to fight him.

It will not remove his name from Calzaghe Legacy but it certainly won't help it if he loses. Kessler also is a big super middleweoght who could easily make light heavy IMO. Dawson and Kessler look to be around the same build and Hopkins had his last fight at 170 so if this fight were to come down it will most likely end up at that catch weight. Kessler loosing regardless to who will only hurt Joe's win in many eyes.

Dawson is a legitimate challenger in Calzaghe's new home, the LHW division and could present a tough challenge on any given night. Why do you think Dawson wanted a fight with Kessler? Before that he wanted Calzaghe but he and his promotional team realized it wouldn't be that easy so they chose a common opponent either Hopkins or Kessler. They realize it will attract buzz for a showdown with Calzaghe and with pressure from fans/promoters=$$$ Calzaghe certainly would give a toss.
