Kessler's US dreams down for the count!

According to sporten.dk Mikkel Kessler's promotor, whos in the US, has been turned down again. This time it's Bernard Hopkins: "Hopkins has cathegorically refused to fight Kessler," Palle says "He doesn't even want to hear the name any more even though we have made a very lucrative offer for him."

Joe Calzaghe has also turned down Palle so Kessler's US adventure seems headed for a fail. "As the big names say no our options for a TV-fight in the states vanishes. There are only so many big names", Palle says.

Last week Palle said that he almost had a fight lined up on HBO on March 14, but since Palle hasn't heard from the broadcaster he expects that date to be in limbo: "HBO should ¤#*@{@§* (insert extreme foul danish swearing here ) man up and decide what they wanna show. In the end they are the ones that calls the shots."

Palle expected to have an agreement with HBO in the middle of December but that deadline is postponed indefinetely. "We cannot wait on HBO forever" Palle says who acknowledges that Kessler's american dream might be temporarily at an end. Palle might now go for a big fight in Europe.

"A fight between Kessler and Carl Froch would be huge in Europe and Froch has several times said that he'd like to fight Mikkel."

Despite the dim outlook for a US fight Palle still has hopes for Kessler to face Jermain Taylor. "Taylor doesn't want to fight Winky Wright so I guess Taylor only has Mikkel left. HBO would like to show it, but whether they'll do it or not we simply dont know".

a taylor fight would be good if not he should fight froch. Kessler isn't in the same league as hopkins so that's understandable why bhop would turn it down.

I don't like it when European fighters get mistreated and pushed around. They are making a valid attempt to secure a fight without any support. Maybe they should try Showtime? Calzaghe used to have a contract with them and Abraham just fought Miranda on there. That would most likely be their best bet.

i think it's unrealistic of them to be chasing B-Hop and Calzaghe so hard

if they push the issue enough they could get a Taylor, Froch or maybe even Dawson though

Any combination of Kessler, Taylor and Froch would make for good viewing.

He'll end up fighting Froch in Denmark.

                Bound to happen.

                Taylor will target Bute.

Nope. Bute's all but signed to fight Mads Larsen in Denmark.
