Which Fab 4 opponent gives Floyd the toughest time?

I like how you guys just discredit Floyd and say all 4 beat him soundly...those 4 wouldnt even tell you that.
I think Floyd would beat Tommy Hearns..his chin was too glassy....Floyd would catch him...Tommys right hand would never land..Floyd dances to a UD.
Duran gets boxed silly.
Hagler is too big Floyd loses at 160.....Wait ..Floyd never fought at 160 but anywho.
SRL gets outclassed and outpointed everything SRL did..Floyd does better...and the defense is not even close..Floyd wins this in a close fight.
Hagler beats him...Floyd beats the rest.Comment

Floyd couldn't put Judah away. How is he gonna hurt the bigger, stonger, better Hearns? Tommy would have him on the ropes, Floyd would be trying to pot shot him while he kept teeing off. Hearns by a wide decision or late stoppage.
And just how did you come to this conclussion? At his best, Durans defense is excellent and his offense is 5x better than Floyds. Duran, UD.Duran gets boxed silly.
Ok.Hagler is too big Floyd loses at 160.....Wait ..Floyd never fought at 160 but anywho.
Leonard is bigger, faster, stronger, meaner, a better offensive fighter and underrated defensively. Ray had problems with taller fighters. If he could put the leather to Benitez the way he did, he could do it to Floyd. Leonard, UD.SRL gets outclassed and outpointed everything SRL did..Floyd does better...and the defense is not even close..Floyd wins this in a close fight.
Hagler beats him...Floyd beats the rest.
Its sickening the nuthuggery Mayweather gets. He hasn't even faced todays best welters, yet many have him beating some of the greatest and most accomplished fighters in history. Floyd is a wonderful fighter, but please.......get real!Last edited by JAB5239; 12-19-2008, 04:29 AM.Comment

too tall and powerful isnt a reason why they would winwhat?
i think all 4 beats him and soundly.
no point in going into specifics really.
hearns was too tall and powerful.
hagler is too big and powerful.
leonard was bigger , had a chin floyd couldn't hurt and just as skilled.
duran and floyd are the closest in size but floyd's toughest fight to date was castillo. there is no boxing skill or attribute category that i can think of where castillo had even a slight edge on roberto.
floyd gets ktfo by all 4.
id say duran outhustles him to a close decision at 135, could even be a draw or go either way though...mainly because at 135 floyd was pretty much prime and he would have given duran a great fight
leonard decisions him-very close though, i could see floyd maybe winning this fight but id say leonard probably beats him
actually on second thought i think floyds movement would give hearns real issues, floyd has a good chance here
hagler decisions him- floyds defence would help him last the distance and his speed would occasionally puzzle marvin but hagler was skilled also and would get the wide points win
id say hagler is the only one he loses to for sure, he has a good chance with all the others
its clsoe though, he could just as easily win 3/4 as he could lose all 4
but really floyd was prime at 130/135, it aint really fair comparing him to a MW the class of marvin hagler, a weight he never even fought at or planned to fight at...theres too many questions like would floyd carry speed up, etc to justify a prediction of him winning vs haglerLast edited by KostyaTszyu44; 12-19-2008, 05:26 AM.Comment

dont be fooled by his resume i have heard a few people say if he had legs/ and or balance he would have been the best of the lot.Duran - 135
Leonard - 147
Hearns - 154
Hagler - 160
I'll say Hearns surprisingly... he was one of the worst of the fab 4 (which is still better than almost anyone to ever fight), but his jab, power and reach would just give Mayweather fits IMO.
Hagler a close second because of size alone. Leonard 3rd and Duran 4th, also because of their size.
Thoughts?
My pick would naturally be Hagler, at 160 to big for Mayweather, too powerfulComment

Tommy Hearns with a chin likely would have never lost.
But, he didn't have one, which was enough to separate the other three from him.Comment

I don't think Hearns' chin would be an issue against Mayweather.
He didn't really have a "glass" jaw anyway. In the Leonard fight he was tired and didn't know how to tie up, in the Hagler fight he was overpowered in a brawl (he took a lot of punishment before going down), against Barkley he got caught by a bigger, stronger fighter.
The way Hearns fought Wilfred Benitez is the way to beat Floyd Mayweather.

i think Leonard... he can do everything Floyd can, but better
i think Floyd could maybe sc**** a win against Hearns and/or Duran... i have em down as close fights, with Duran and Hearns slight favourites
and Hagler is too bigComment

I can't be bothered going into explanations right now as I'm having trouble hitting the keys, but, I agree.
Each guy would beat him and reasonably convincingly so. Duran the least convincingly because that was Mayweather's best weight of course, but no one that stood in front of Duran could win, and especially no one that liked to lay on the ropes as much as Mayweather did, so, in a funny way that makes it the most convincing win in fact (May being at his prime weight).Last edited by BennyST; 12-19-2008, 10:42 AM.Comment
