Kessler: "Hopkins, Taylor, Dawson Don't Want None"

Hey dstew. Do you have any word out of Taylor's camp regarding a fight with Winky, Kessler or any others?

Unfortunately there is nothing being reported locally.

The most up-to-date news seems to be Lou Dibella's comments to b o x i n g t a l k yesterday basically conceding that there were financial considerations in getting HBO to back Taylor/Froch and they would rather him fight Winky or Kessler. He said right now they are discussing license fees and that Jermain "will consider any big fight that the television networks want, and are willing to pay top dollar for," blah blah blah.

Kudos to Kessler for naming not just one guy he would like to fight, but six. All are top names and all would be fights well worth watching. I just hope for Kessler's sake and the sake of the sport we can get one of them made in 2009.

good to see Kessler getting back in the mix,.. but all those guys he mentioned wanted Calzaghe for the big cash,.. any one of those guys would fight him if a good offer was laid on the table,.. keep making noise Kessler you'll get your wish...

Dawsons promoter Shaw said that Dawson is literally drooling over a match with Kessler if Calzaghe doesn't step up,.. they just want to get the Tarver rematch done and out of the way since there was a rematch clause in the contract,.. if Dawson beats Tarver,.. Kessler could be next.

Kessler is saying he is unable to land a big fight with the names he mentioned. Kessler is a good fighter, but so are the other guys. The main reason he can't land a big fight here in the States is because he pulled out of the Edison Miranda fight. He enraged american promoters when he made outrageous demands for the fight (which were met. look it up.) and pulled out anyway. If he can't land a big fight here in America, it's really his own fault.

Instead of landing a huge fight, Kessler should just come over and try to land an interesting fight. He could fight a miranda/green etc and spark some interest from HBO/Showtime over here.

Then he will get his huge fight. He does not need Dawson yet as there are plenty of fish to fry at 168 still.

There where 2 seperate Miranda negotiations. Kessler pulled out the first time because no belt was on the line. Second time around Miranda was suddenly highly ranked by WBA who agreed to sanction the fight.

That time Miranda ditched Kessler because he wanted Arthur Abraham instead.

Kessler is a real gentleman of the sport, completely modest, but not that hyped up fake modesty of Ricky Hatton.

I hope Kessler gets a good bout soon, he's a top fighter and a decent guy. Haven't got a bad word to say about the guy.
