As an amateur, Haye never won a gold medal in a world boxing tournament.

Solis & povetkin had great amateur careers & are fighting good competition early.povetkin already beat ahunanya, donald,Byrd, bostice, chambers, estrada.with wlads amateur pedigree he never stepped up until he had 32 fights.he should have been able to beat purrity by the time he was 8-0.they pampered him & kept him away from a legit heavyweight puncher until he fought mercer.solis is stepping up fighting Robert Hawkins & then fres oquendo 3 weeks later.that's stepping up not like how wlad was protected.

Wow Solis has gotten flabby since then, and whats with the announcing? You would think they were David Haye's fan club.

Solis has by far his biggest fight coming up in May, vs. Fres Oquendo who is far better than any heavy that Haye ever faced.

Yeah, the announcers are disgustingly biased, tho not nearly as bad, and much more competent, than the talking heads they hire to announce boxing matches in the USA these days.

Haye is a hype job. His upcoming fight with Doctor K is an absurd mismatch. Haye never even fought, let alone beat, one single heavyweight contender, but as much as I dislike him, upon reflection, i have to give him credit for hyping the absurd mismatch into a huge money maker - but boxing is resembling WWF sports entertainment wrasslin' more and more now.

After he gets out of the hospital, assuming he isn't smart enough to hit the deck right away at the first convenient excuse, Haye can laugh all the way to the bank over the scam he pulled on all the suckers.

Solis needs to come into this up coming in much better condition than he was the last time I saw him on FNF.....and I have heard no announcer on the American television that I watch be so blatantly biased for a particular fighter, though it was pretty close for the Diaz/JMM fight....it was Diaz this and Diaz that, and then BOOM! KTFO!

                Agreed.

As for Oquendo, he's been getting screwed by the crooked boxing judges for years now. If there's a way to screw Fres, they'll find it - vs. Byrd, Ruiz, Toney, maybe Holyfield too, thoI didn't see that one. He must never make any payoffs to Don King's bag men.

I thought he outworked Toney in that fight too, yet there are still people on here who say Toney currently deserves a title shot.

if sum1 gets hit with a BIG shot or hurt they stop the fight and give an mandatory standing 8 count. mind you the standing 8 count only counts for ONE punch.

Was there ever a Cuban who turned pro? I thought it was forbidden in that country, they pay amateurs like pros. Teofilo Stevenson and Cubans could have ruled by now if that were possible.
