Guys that Would beat Bruce Lee in a fight:

B-Hop did fight a few really quality people during his MW reign. But there is a reason he is just now getting big $$$ to fight. With the occasional quality fighters, B-Hop mostly fought mandatories to continually defend the belts he held. A lot of mandatories... with a few really good opponents. Just like Calzaghe, a lot of mandatories with a few good names (Chris Eubank, Robin Reid, Omar Sheika, Evans Ashira, and yes Kessler). People say Kessler wasn't a proven fighter... not true. Only uproven because most of us live on the West side of the pond. Ask most european fans, and they'll tell you, Kessler was the most skilled fighter Calzaghe could have taken on south of Light Heavy and north of Middleweight.

If Calzaghe wanted to verbally joust resumes with Hopkins... he shouldn't have even mentioned Kessler... he shoud have said "Clinton Mitchell, Roy Jones Jr., and Jermain Taylor twice my friend". Rather than compare resume to resume, remind B-Hop that he began his career with a flawed record, and has tasted defeat since that time... something Joe has not!

Remind Calzaghe that he could have faced off against a prime B-Hop/ RJJ but chose not to. B-Hop may have faced mandatories...but he still faced serious oppsition...

Listen...Calzaghe could FINALLY face a prime fighter on the P4P list in Chad...Something B-Hop has done plenty of times...

You're right... But there are fans of message boards, and then there are fans of boxing who happen to write in on message boards. The first group, doesn't bother to learn about the fighters who don't make the cover of Ring Magazine.

The second group actually take the time to read well written articles and tune in for ESPN Classic... when you do that, you realize. Bernard has fought very few really sensational fighters.... but he DID beat a lot of pretty damn good fighters.

P.S. I'm a Yank, but it is absolutely sinful to not know about Eubank. The guy was phenomenal and Calzaghe knocked his ass out of frame when Calzaghe was still a youngster.

If you act as spiteful as that, people who respect bruce for good reason will make it their duty to make Bruce into even more of a demi God than he already is. Bruce is so God like that you would think it hard to make him even more God like but youd better believe we will try our best, if you come out with your spiteful jealous trash. bsrizpack you are not a fighter yourself, and the fact that no great martial artist or fighter has come forward to say you kicked their butts proves the theory that you arent a fighter. But with Bruce the fact that great martial artist after great martial has stepped forward and said Lee beat their butts....easily; proves the theory that Bruce was an amazing and great fighter. Thats what seperates the Bruce Lees of this world from the likes of yourself.

No, a lot of Martial Artists have said he was great. That he was great in sparring. That in sparring they had trouble with him or were surprised or in training they were impressed.

Well, let's be realistic here, IDK anything in detail about Bruce Lee, but, if what you say is true, then giving trouble to professionals, even in sparring means you can fight. Sparring is not easy man, you get hit there too, you get cut, you get hurt.

Again, I ask: Who did Bruce Lee fight and beat? Exhibitions and gung fu experts don't count. And before another idiot comes around I am aware of the random experts that challenged him on movie sets and the fights that broke out there.

I'm still waiting to see how anyone wants to explain how Bruce beating up some mcdojo gung fu guy = Bruce is a fighter that could beat up actual fighters.

Finally for the reading impaired: this is not an insult to Lee. Bruce would be horrified at the nutriding and jock worship he gets now. His philosophy and JKD was all about getting AWAY from crap like that.
