Bruce Lee never received a Global I.D. to fight as a professional boxer, a strike against the general relevancy of the thread considering this is the NON STOP BOXING portion of the forum. Not to mention the topic is "People that could possible beat Bruce Lee in a fight". Both Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins were mentioned. I fail to see how an intelligent discussion regarding either fighter fails to be any less relevant than the thread itself.

The B-Hop fanatics have waged an equally strong war of words. I wasn't trying to discredit either fighter. I was only saying that if you REALLY look at both fighters resumes (boxrec), you find that they are strikingly similar. I hate to hurt the feelings of either group of fans, but they both fought a few great fighters... and a ton of mediocre fighters.

Here's a thought: Bruce came from a martial art called Wing Chun. Wing Chun was not a fighting art.

He took things from many other arts to create his martial art philosophy. But in the end, he never fought. Just mythical legends. I'm not saying that they guy might not have been great, but he never proved it.

If you mean he never fought professionally then yes, there is no proof. I never claimed with certainty that there such an event. My point is that Bruce Lee was a fighter, you don't have to necessarily make it your career to acquire that label.

As for outlandish claims well you'll have to give me some examples of what some people say about him that's so outlandish, because like I said, I never thought Bruce Lee was the second coming of Jesus.

No, a lot of Martial Artists have said he was great. That he was great in sparring. That in sparring they had trouble with him or were surprised or in training they were impressed.

If you read the whole of that Bob Wall interview, Bob Wall said they were fierce encounters with any goes apart from joint locks. I only posted a bit of that Bob Wall interview. Bruce never had proper fights because noone could give him a proper fight. It was just him showing you humility and making you realize you had a lot to learn to get where he was at.
If Mike Tyson beat you in sparring sessions, wouldnt you conclude he would beat you in a real fight as well? Or maybe your logic that sparring is a game that Mike Tyson beating you in sparring means youd kill Tyson in the ring.
Noone could touch Bruce in sparring sessions, means noone thinks they would touch him any other time as well.
