Lee fought Jack and Yup Man. Wow. THOSE ARE WING CHUN GUYS. /QUOTE]

Jack is not a "wing chun" guy. He was a Northern Shaolin practitioner at the time and now is more of a soft style Gung Fu guy, like Hsing Yi.

etc. etc. I cant think of anyone other than God, it's a small list.

Reasons? Well everyone on the list has actual legit fighting experience in their chosen sport against legit opponents and champions. Which is more than Bruce Lee has ever done.

This is not a Bruce Lee hate thread. He had some very good ideas, about fighting, but simply put he never fought anyone other than Wong Man Jack and 2-3 Wing Chun guys. If you know what Wing Chun really is you understand why that's not impressive.
Do yourself and everyone a favour dude and be quiet as a mouse please. If you act as spiteful as that, people who respect bruce for good reason will make it their duty to make Bruce into even more of a demi God than he already is. Bruce is so God like that you would think it hard to make him even more God like but youd better believe we will try our best, if you come out with your spiteful jealous trash. We will rub your nose in it how great he was like i rub my dogs nose in his poo poo to make him learn not to poop on my best rug. And you will learn the hard way as well.

bsrizpack you are not a fighter yourself, and the fact that no great martial artist or fighter has come forward to say you kicked their butts proves the theory that you arent a fighter. But with Bruce the fact that great martial artist after great martial has stepped forward and said Lee beat their butts....easily; proves the theory that Bruce was an amazing and great fighter. Thats what seperates the Bruce Lees of this world from the likes of yourself.

Now zip it up if you dont want more of me.

Bsrizpac so you dont think Bruce Lee beat anyone other than Wong Jack Man? You are wrong and i think you know it already though. Why dont you tell Bob Wall, Bruce Lee didnt beat him? And im not just talking about on the ETD film set. Face it dude, Bruce Lee beat everyone who wanted a sample of him.

Bob Wall quote: "Think about it this way...many of these guys were WORLD CHAMPIONS. They had faced and defeated the best in the business accross the globe. They are proud fighters. Who wouldn't be humiliated losing to a guy who has not fought professionally, and has no rank or certification to boot? It is my opinion that losing to Bruce in some ways was more devastating than losing a title fight. At least in a title fight, you know your opponent worked his butt off to get there, and it took a great deal of time. Many years of hard work, and paying your dues. Then you fight this little 140 pound guy and he just cleans your clock."

Who cares who could beat bruce lee in the ring? He didnt care. He wasnt studying matial arts to fight in a ring, but to know the art deeply. Fighting wise, his art was about stopping an aggression in the fastest way possible. Using all you could use, no rules, getting there fast and deadly. Not about squaring 1 in front of the others from far with hands up until someone rings the bell.

Aggressions usually come from very short distance and are unexpected. So the first attribute you train is awarness of what happens around you..always be ready. His JKD derives strongly from wing chun who is all about closing the distance on an aggression, control arms or legs if they are stopping you from getting to the target, then get there fast and deadly. It uses speed, reflexes, sensitivity, and most of all, surprise. Its really not suited for combat sports, its a whole different scenario there.

anyway i could go on and on but bottom line is, he didnt care to fight in the ring, he didnt care about the sport side of fighting, but strangely there always will be ppl who will come up and say...oh he would be beaten by Tyson and so and so. He wasnt in martial arts to fight Tyson, so why do you care so much about that?
