Roy is out of contention now though. But I honestly cannot see what the outcry is all about going for the Hopkins fight. Hopkins is a 43 year old freak that will give most young fighters a run for there money if not a schooling. It won't be a walk in the park, but coming away with an impressive win should be universally praised.

being a fan of both fighters, i'd hate to see this fight happen.....

i;d hate to see bernard get whooped by a stronger, faster fighter than joe calzaghe...

on the other hand, i'd hate to see bad chad get schooled like kelly pavlik.....

if bernard can't get a rematch with calzaghe, he should retire. no other fights for him to take......

When Pavlik did it, he was universally praised. Now Dawson is going after him and people are even questioning whether its too hard a fight for him.

When Calzaghe fought Jones, he was fighting a washed up 40 year old shot fighters.

When Dawson says he wants Jones, its "a good name on his resume".

Or because Calzaghe doesnt have any reason to postpone his retirement plans. If he fights on, I think he should fight Dawson. But if he wants to retire, then he can without Dawson being a factor in it. Dawson wont make or break anyones legacy at this stage.

If JC was serious about securing this so called "Legacy" he and the whole boxing universe knows that retiring with Dawson on the prowl, the Champion in his division that everyone is screaming for him to fight will be devastating down the road..IMO he will NEVER be an all time great, its to late for that..But a win over Dawson will shut alot of peoples mouths and gain their respect for the man at the least, i know it will for me tbh, so lets hope he makes that decision
