all of the best guys in the division are older. deal with it. calzaghe, hopkins, johnson, and tarver. you want him to fight unproven and most likely worse fighters just cause they are younger? the only good young established fighter in the division is dawson and calzaghe is ducking him like no other.Comment

With Hopkins, he will have bitten off more than he can chew.Last edited by The Hammer; 12-16-2008, 09:11 AM.Comment

Hopkins has fought his last young, hungry lion in Pavlik. A Dawson fight doesn't make too much sense at this point, and if Calzaghe won't fight him again, then he should take on Glenn Johnson (someone his own age range) or retire.Comment

I actually see this as a viable option; If Calzaghe is not prepared to fight either of these fighters then its quite simple.
Hopkins would further prove his greatness taking this fight, Dawson is most defo a threat to any LHW at present. If Hopkins takes Dawsons "0" it puts the calzaghe rematch into a "must happen" situation; as Hopkins would have dealt with two fighters that have called out calzaghe blatantly...
For Dawson its a good opportunity, Hopkins is a future all of famer that cannot do any harm to your resume, even if he loses/or wins ugly its an excellent experience to be in the ring with fighter of Hopkins ability/ring smarts.
I personally believe Dawson can get a decision against Hopkins, it wont be an easy task and he'll have to learn to change tactics/game plan early on but its possible.Comment
