Now, before I ask this question I want to say that I love the United States of America and I love Americans.

It is inscrutable to me as to why Brits and Americans squabble so pettily on this site.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask, do you think the United Kingdom has done well in terms of boxing over the years considering that our nation is far smaller than Texas?

Personally, I think we have had a decent amount of boxing World Champions, but we could have done better seeing how popular boxing is here.

I'm VERY American... and I think the U.K. has produced a damn fine crop of fighters. MMA has put a very tiny damper on the U.S. boxing market, but it doesn't seem to have made its way to the U.K. as much. Anyone who discredits the U.K. crop of fighters has a personal vendetta against the Brits, not an unbiased view of the sport.

I think the "Most Improved" award should go to the former Soviet Union nations. Especially in the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions.

I think we have done okay, I mean there are bigger boxing stars in America admittedly... but considering how big boxing is over here compared to how big it is in America we have done pretty well. In Britain most of the population are Football (Soccer) fans, which seems to get more coverage than Boxing.

People from wales-scotland saying **** England are complete morons they wouldn't be able to survive if they split there economies on there own arnt strong enough thats why i hate it when england gets slatted alot of **** from people saying they hate england but the fact is its mostly english economy that supports them. England Wales Scotland are stonger together as britain then they would be apart so why change it ? Plus most people from britain are a mix of and 4 of the nationalities.

Britain and america are allies i like the fact we have a strong and good relationship with america and may it long continue ! with boxing i think everyone has a little dig at america because they are "historically" the best and its the mecca for boxing.
